While we are re-opening, we have made some new temporary rules and are giving guidance for Safe Freecycling:
?
- Everyone does outside the house or curb pickup only.
- Use gloves when picking up items and clean the item when you get home.
?
- No items to be offered that require entrance to the gifter's home/garage/sheds...
- No remote face to face meetups without safe distancing masks and gloves.
- i.e. Meet at a predefined location,? acknowledge from a distance (Cell phones help here) and? gifter sets the item, and backs away for the recipient to collect the item, maintaining safe social distancing.
- If one of the parties does NOT follow safe distancing and wearing of masks,? please WALK AWAY and report the matter?? -? We WILL reprimand, and for repeat offenders ban the offending party.? THIS IS FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY!
- No opened food items in case of contamination.
- Reminder - Medicines are prohibited under our normal rules!
- No clothing, bedding etc. unless freshly laundered and bagged in plastic bags
- Gifter MUST state the clothing has been freshly laundered!
- With the recommendation the clothes/bedding be re-washed-once home, direct from the bag...? Minimize your contact!)
- Limits on furniture! In particular upholstered furniture; as these cannot be properly sanitized?? "Hard" furniture - such as tables, wood/metal/plastic chairs (cane back/seat OK;? upholstered, NOT OK), dressers, end tables and similar "Hard" surface furniture CAN be offered.
?
- Location - keep it to short distances
- This is aimed at the Gifter's end, BUT
- We require a general location on all posts for wanted/offers
- Major Cross streets
- Near the (the Hub,? Newpark Mall, Union landing etc...)
- Do not post an exact address. (No "come and get" it posts)
?
?
This is not a lot different from our usual practices, but there ARE some differences and some added restrictions for what can be offered.
