Guidance for how to reduce risk in a post C 19 Freecycle world:
The following is a SUMMARY:
KEEP IT FREE, LEGAL & APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES. This means, for example, no alcohol, tobacco, firearms or drugs - legal or otherwise. This is our main Freecycle rule to live by. (there are other posting rules however...)
Hints for new posters - Note that there are a few differences in posting requirements!:
Correct subject lines are MANDATORY - i.e: #OFFER item; #TAKEN item, #WANTED item; #RECEIVED item - Note the hashtag format! posts without one of these 4 hashtags will be auto rejected by the new forum!
Having issues with bounced posts? Do not add a colon or other character to the end of the hashtag! Use a space so it stands alone. #OFFER: is not a recognizable hashtag with the colon or other character.
NO, we DO NOT accept a hash tag at each end of the of the subject line!
Please limit wanted items to 5 per month (including repeats, which are limited to every 7 days or twice in a month). No stories in wanted posts, period!
You can use Freecycle to find a home for pets, if done responsibly - NO wanted posts for pets.
PICK UP is determined by the person making an OFFER.
SAFETY: It is up to each individual member of Freecycle when arranging for pickup of the item being given away, to be appropriately aware of the potential risk of having "a stranger" come to your home to pick something up.
DISCLAIMER: FREMONT FREECYCLE MEMBERS USE THE LIST AT THEIR OWN RISK. Please take reasonable measures to protect your safety and privacy when posting to the list or participating in an exchange. By joining the list, you agree to hold neither the list owners and moderators responsible or liable for any circumstance resulting from a Freecycle-related exchange or communication. Members are responsible for their own safety for any transaction, or any repercussions from any transaction.
Thanks for recycling with Fremont Freecycle; and PLEASE! Tell your friends neighbors and co-workers about Freecycle!
