Isn't ARCP 480 for kenwood only? you could also try FLRig, also needs a serial adapter. Thanks Dan KC2STA [email protected]> wrote: -- Dan Ziolkowski KC2STA SKCC #4290T Ubuntu LINUX

Re: Another buttons issue, and no audio
Thanks Ronald,? That's why I was trying to be as detailed as possible. I noted in the manual the reported effect on the S meter when turning down the gain, so I probably should have reported that

Re: Another buttons issue, and no audio
A couple clues you mentioned. S meter at S9+++ might indicate that the RF Gain is turned down. RF gain shares the squelch knob. You also might try downloading the ARCP 480 remote control program

Re: Another buttons issue, and no audio
Yours looks to be an 857D like mine. Emailing customer support will get you full confirmation. Yaesu still supports these. Juan

Re: Another buttons issue, and no audio
Thanks Juan, I don't see an actual DIP (as in an IC) socket.? I do see that the module along the left chassis wall is plugged in to the main board though.? Guessing this is an 857D from the factory

Re: Another buttons issue, and no audio
If the circuit board has a DIP socket on the top of the board, lower left as seen from the front, it is an 857. If it has a chip on the socket it's been upgraded to an 857D. If it has no socket, it

Re: 857D Buttons Inoperative
Remove the control head again and, with a Q-tip and/or cloth saturated with Deoxit, clean any and all contacts you can get to. That the buttons "worked for a minute" sounds to me like a possible

Re: 857D Buttons Inoperative
Try a different cable. If the problem persists your might have a bad control head. Replacements are readily available. [email protected]> wrote:

Thanks k1prc. I did as you advised. Removed the cover, blew out the dust with a can of air, inspected what I could see and reassembled. It worked..for a minute. But, it didn't last and went back to my

Re: How to assemble a Collins filter + Board for FT-857 and save $$$!!!
I found a filter I think I can use. Specs are 455 khz USB, 250 hz BW @ 2dB down, 3.2 khz BW @ 50 dB down, 9dB insertion loss. I bought the last one the seller had. Do these specs make sense for a CW

Re: How to assemble a Collins filter + Board for FT-857 and save $$$!!!
Ok. I will see if I can find one of those two. So far I have only found the YF-122CN's in Japan at pretty high prices, and nine of the individual filters. I tried Collins, they said no stock. But that

You could operate with a 200Hz width, just like a 300Hz filter. These are handy when you are trying to isolate one station right next to another. Filters do present some insertion loss, so you would
