DQM-9 Crossover Schematic 2
I’m preparing to recap my DQM-9s as they are original and was wondering if anyone has a crossover schematic or parts list? Would prefer ordering parts before I pull the speakers apart. Thanks.

DQ 1W--seized woofer 13
I couldn't resist buying another DQ10 setup, this time with a DQ 1W sub and DQ LP1. Of course I didn't test any of it before purchase and not too surprisingly the DQ 1W woofer is seized. I've read about this somewhere previously--with dust cap off you can clearly see that the center pole piece is jammed up against one side. Not to mention that it looks like somebody basically tried to start a fire with this thing. So not worth trying to repair. Just wondering then--does anyone have a Seas 33F woofer in ok shape you would part with at a reasonable cost? Or--does anyone have experience retrofitting with another woofer? It is a 13" which is a horrible size to work with though there are appear to be some subs that are at least near 12.75" OD. Could probably make it work. Not too worried about this project but thought I would ask.

New owner of a pair of DQ10s that need a lot of work 45
I’m great full that this group exist! I was given a pair of DQ10 speaker. The owner was going to throw then away. I hooked them up and they work. They still sounded worth saving even with incorrect blow woofers and mix matched tweeters. Someone also spray painted most of it black. The screens are in good shape. I am going to rebuild the woofer enclosure, thanks to the schematics in this group. I’m looking at purchasing new woofers and tweeters and rewire both speakers. I would like guidance from the experts. Thank you in advance.

Which side is positive? 6
Ok. I have a set of DQ-10 tweeters supplied by Sheldon (thank you again). I am trying to figure out which side is positive and if the fuse is hooked to the positive or the negative side. Also on the super tweeters the same question. I noticed a white dot next to a post on each speaker. I want to confirm whether it is pos or neg. As always, thank you for your help. Cheers.

DQ-10's 6
Hello, It's been a long time since my DQ-10's were up and running. Attached is a picture of them in my newly built out pool room / soon to be bar. Pool table is a late 1950's AMF Grand Prix, restored from an MIT Frat House. I have had the DQ's for 30 plus years. Reformed the woofers a few years back; other than that original, mirrored pair. I did change the grill cloth at the same time, as I liked the look better. Love the sound! Being powered by a Onkyo AV TX-SR503 and AudioSource EQ-One. Would like to add a Dahlquist sub and more power but haven't quite found what I'm looking for at the right price. Enjoy the posts here on these speakers and related items. On a side note, I somehow "lost" the microphone for the EQ. My understanding is the mike is a "flat response" type. Used with the pink noise feature to tune the speakers to the room. Any idea where I could find a replacement or similiar mic that would work? Thanks!

DQ-28 bad tweeter. Sources replacements? 6
Buddy of mine just picked up a pair of DQ-28 in great shape. One tweeter is under preforming. It works but does not have full range of highs. We swapped it with the working tweeter and it is NOT the crossover it is the tweeter. Has anyone tried https://dahlquistspeakers.com/? Are they any good? I see they have replacements available for $127ea. Should I replace with factory or do y’all have a replacement recommendation? Thank you in advance for all the help. Cheers

Well, I’m hooked. Picked up a beautiful pair of DQ-8’s
I found the spec page on this site but really want to know a little about them. They are as close to new condition as you can get. I paid $275 for the pair and picked them no cost for shipping. They sound great!

Pair of DQ-10 or DQ-20s For Sale in Arizona 4
I hope this is ok to post here: Time to thin the herd a bit. DQ-10s in great shape, all drivers good, with original stands and all original documents. Replacement DT-94 tweeters, (but I can give you originals with one working driver) original factory upgraded mylar crossovers but not mirrored and I think I also have the original boxes in storage. One grill has one small pencil eraser size hole, but it's not noticible, wood and badges great condition. Advent woofers rebuilt about 7 years ago. DQ-20s all original with replacement aluminum floor spikes (originals can be provided). Wood is good and grill has a few snags and scrapes, but really not noticible from a few feet away. All original cross overs, all original drivers are good. Advent style woofer rebuilt about 5 years ago. Both sets have been well taken care of and always been in an air conditioned room since at least the mid 90s when I got them. No disappointments. $400 cash no trades for either pair.

Is the Binks tool designed to isolate speakers that aren't working? 30

2 sets of DQ-10s and 2 Subs in DFW area
There are two sets of DQ-10’s and 2 DQ-1W’s at Dallas Vintage Audio. One DQ-10 set has a massive re-engineered crossover. The other set is a bit rough but probably good for parts.

Nakamichi and the Dahlquist DQ-10 2
Thought some of you might find this interesting... While going through my files to expand the group Wiki and make it a bit more useful, I ran across images of this old Nakamichi brochure for the DQ-10. Yes, Nakamichi. Back at the end of 1973, the DQ-10 so impressed Mr. Etsuro Nakamichi himself that he decided to import and distribute the model in Japan using his company. This is a brochure for the early units with the CTS woofer, but the model found its fans over there and they were sold in Japan by one outfit or another until the end of production. I can't say for certain, but it seems the DQ-10s Nakamichi brought over stuck the badges up top (or so it was for the couple of pairs I've seen) counter to the optionally mounted badges on the US versions with the tendency to glue them down low.

DQ-20i muted output from one speaker 16
I have a pair of DQ-20i and the right speaker is having issues. All drivers (woofer, midrange and tweeter) are putting out sound, but when I run a 50 hz tone through them, and move the balance back and forth, the right speaker much more quiet. My uneducated guess is that I am having an issue in the crossover (one of the caps going bad?). My crossovers have the black Solen caps, and they look like they are in good condition, but being nothing more than a neophyte, I am not confident I know how to test them. Could it be the midranges? If it is the capacitors, any recommendations on what brand and where to buy them? On a related note, has anyone considered moving the crossovers out of the box and into an external enclosure for easier access and tinkering? I met a guy that builds high end speakers and he does this. Seems convenient. Thoughts? TIA.

DQ10 Capacitors 14
Hi Guys and Gals, I know this question has probably been answered but searched through database and could not find anything definitive. Have had these DQ10s for maybe 28 years. Stereo pair s/n 42466 and 42467. Other than woofer surround replacements they are unmolested (or un-updated?!). I understand the electrolytic capacitors are the most problematic. Not looking to do a complete x-over overhaul, but is it advisable to replace only the electrolytic capacitors- the speakers do not sound bad, but not sure what I may be missing? So, if so, which ones should I replace? See image. Suggestions for components/values. And, are there polarity issues to worry about? Thanks, yes I'm a novice, but enjoy the hobby. Mike

Value of upgrading 19
I own two pair of 10's, one pair in serial range of 37,000 and the other in the 47,000 range. That may not be relevant to my question but thought I'd mention it in case it is. The earlier pair had the caps replaced maybe 12 yrs ago, but have seen almost zero use since. The second pair has all original caps (Yellow Mexico). I'm debating selling one set. The easiest route would be sell the earlier pair and upgrade the 47,000 pair. How much additional "street value" do members feel the upgrades add for pricing purposes? Oh, and I also refoamed the woofs, refinished the side rails and replaced the grill cloth with cream-colored Guilford of Maine 701 (the absolute closest I have ever found to matching the original off-white.

DQ-10 with a powered sub 7
Happy Friday everybody... I have been watching auctions on DQ-1Ws, DQ-LP1s and DQ-mx1s. From what I'm seeing, 1Ws $200-250, MX1s $150-225, LP1s $200-300. A local fella is selling a clean Klipsch R-110SW locally for $200. This has a built in selectable crossover points and should eliminate the need for a LP1 or MX1 right? Anyone see a problem with using the Klipsch? http://images.klipsch.com/R-110SW_-_Spec_Sheet_635466333600152000.pdf ted
