DXView 1.2.9 is available

Dave, AA6YQ

This release

- supports rotators controlled by ARSWIN (see
)

- logs the contents of the Prefix texbox (presumably a callsign) in
DXKeeper (if running) when you depress the CTRL key while clicking the Go
button, or while striking the Enter key in the Prefix textbox.

The second feature requires DXKeeper 1.2.5 or later. If DXKeeper's QSO
Capture window is visible, then the contents of DXKeeper's Prefix textbox
overwrite the contents of the QSO Capture window's Callsign textbox.
Otherwise, they overwrite the contents of the Callsign textbox in DXKeeper's
main log window.

If you've already installed DXView, you can upgrade by downloading
- store it in your DXView
folder and execute it; you can then run the extracted DXView129.exe . Your
online help will be updated by this process.

73,

Dave , AA6YQ

DXKeeper 1.2.5 is available

Dave, AA6YQ

This release

- eliminates several possible causes of the "Cannot open any more tables
or queries" error log entry that occurs after many log filter operations

- accepts callsigns from DXView (requires DXView 1.2.9, which is as yet
unreleased)

If you've already installed DXKeeper 1.1.1 or later, you can upgrade to
version 1.2.5 by downloading and then running

This release

- correctly updates the progess table when QSOs are logged from the
Capture window

- contains more instrumentation aimed at isolating the "persistent
hourglass" problem

- if you export to an existing file, gives you the option of clearing
the
file's contents before the exported records are written

- has improved export performance (~3000 QSOs per minute on this 300
mhz
machine)

If you've already installed DXKeeper 1.1.1 or later, you can upgrade to
version 1.2.4 by downloading and then running

PropView 1.0.6 is available

Dave, AA6YQ

This is a defect, Joe -- PropView's Transmitter Latitude and Longitude are
not being properly initialized when DXView is installed. This has been
corrected in PropView version 1.0.6, which can be obtained by downloading
and running www.qsl.net/propview/PropView106Update.exe -- place the
extracted PropView106.exe in your PropView folder, and then run it.

Thanks!

I have installed and operated PropView with DxView. It is working quite
well for me but I have one quirk that may be caused by something in my
setup here but I thought I would bring it to your attention.
Initally, in
Propview parameters I insert my Transmitter latitude of 41.3 and
Longitude
of 87.28. It appears correctly as 40 30' and 87 28'.... all works well
with the program. Then if I quit the programs and reboot them, in the
propview parameters my Transmitter latitude comes up 0 30' and Latitude
0 28'. on DxView chart, my location is correctly indicated at the south
end of Lake Michigan as it should but I find that to get correct
computations I must go back to the parameters of Propview and correct the
transmitter latitude and longitude .... after doing so all works well
again. Then if I quit the program and reboot it, again the parameters of
the Transmitter location are missing the degrees numbers ...showing only
the minutes. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled with
the same
result.

Do you have any thoughts? I am running Windows 98 on a custom AMD K6
350mhz with 128mb of RAM.

Thanks ... 73-Joe,K9BH

DXKeeper 1.2.4

Dave,

I have been running V 1.2.4 most of the day and so far I have been
unable to break it. I created a new error log before installing it
and so far it's empty. Looking good :-)

Re: Progress table DXKeeper 1.2.3

Found something interesting about that. If you make a change to a
contact in the main QSO window then click save, it adds the info
to the progress window. Might help narrow it down a bit.

Re: Export

Actually very few programs offer the option to append. Most say
overwrite, or name another file. Yes, it would be nice to say, it
exists, overwrite it or append to it. I will almost always say
overwrite. I already knew it existed and I don't need the old
stuff anymore.

Dave,

I notice that when you export log entries to an
existing ADIF file
that you append the entries instead of overwriting
the old file.
Since I use this feature mostly to add new entries to
eQSL.cc this
is not what I want. How about making append/replace optional?

Hmm! That's something I hadn't thought of. But yes, I think that
would provide a visual indication on the Export pane that the

make the help files irrelevant if we possibly can. If there is
some way to make the functionality obvious without reading the

Since I couldn't replicate the "permanent hourglass" problem, I couldn't be
certain that I'd corrected it -- but I thought that might be the case. I did
find and correct a more egregious example -- clicking the DXCC filter button
with no prefix in the filter textbox would produce a similar situation.

Though I added the additional UTC filter range settings, I'm not satisfied
that they are sufficiently intuitive. Critique and/or suggestions would be
appreciated.

DXKeeper while PathView is up, seems to be fixed though I have a

correcting it. The net result is, so far, everything seems very
good with this release, though I have not yet used it for real
