Sorry to misspell "tank"...challenges of arthritic fingers and tablet keyboards with auto correct.
I would encourage you to be able to camp in places without full electric and water hookups - there are some places in GA and north FL that you can get an exceptional experience by being able to unplug. ?Plus, most are super cheap (if not free), like the sites in the Apalachicola National Forest. It's a LOT different than even car tent camping when you're in your Aliner. ?If the A/C is your biggest reason, remember that spring and fall here in the deep south are not A/C weather -- just fans (and maybe a small heater every once in a while). This from a backpacker/historical trekker/car camper from way back. |

We purchased a 2016 Expedition model in 2015.? Don't let anyone fool you, like our dealer and Aliner Customer Service too, that "they've taken care of all the leaks".? The door leaks like a sieve, and water infiltrates from God knows where inside on the roof panel when closed.? C/S said it was "condensation".? We wrote a letter to C/S last year about our escapades with our new camper, and no one ever responded. Trying to fix things ourselves...with little luck. |

The tank is very close to the pump. There isn't enough tool clearance to remove the four screws securing it to the sidewall so I remove the tank first.? Sounds like yours is attached to the floor. The strainer cover is designed to be removed by hand but there is no clearance for that. The pump looks like this one: With this strainer, Looks like the strainer could be moved with an extension. It seems that mine isn't priming too. Each time I pulled it out, cleaned the strainer and reinstalled, it worked again. The debris in the strainer didn't seem enough to stop it from working. Carol If your tank needs cleaning, both your shore and the tank lines probably do.? If you really expect to never, ever boondock, you can pull the tank and lines, but still need to plug them at the sink end and make sure your shore water lines are clean and clear.? Unless there is visible crud (mildew and mold), or you desperately need the three square feet of storage that you gain by removing the tank, I would spend the couple of dollars for a gallon of bleach and clean the full system, both shore and tank. If you wanna come to south GA, we can do it one weekend...well, someday.... Wynne Eden |

Have you tried removing the pump? ?Mine is held down with four screws. ?For me that would be easy compared to removing the tank-- that would be a beast of a job. ?Take the pump out and see if that strainer comes off. ?The pump has a non obvious little squeeze jobbie on it that makes disconnecting it easy once you know how. ?Maybe that would make the removal easier.

My Chalet's brakes make a high pitched squeal when the brakes are applied. I believe its normal to hear the noise as voltage is applied to the electromagnets. Electrical hum from left brake on ALiner
When I was checking brake lights on my 2015 A-Liner Classic, I can hear electrical humming from the left brake.? When the brake peddle is released the humming stops.? Anyone have experience with the electric brakes on the A-Liners?? Why is there a humming coming from inside the brake drum? Thanks Jack McWilliams

So, I was looking at my BAL leveler and trying to figure out an easy way to mount it on the tongue…most methods seem somewhat cumbersome or complicated. ? I put the BAL on the frame around the propane tank, not touching, and was looking at it….then I lifted the narrower middle piece.? Water pump
The water pump in our 2012 Expedition has failed to pump water a number of times. Each? time the water tank has to be drained and? removed to reach the filter and spin it off. A few times there was visible stuff in the filter but a surprisingly small amount. This time it was a ring of sealant about the size of a dime. Each time the pump works after reassembly. The last two times I filled the tank from the hose at home. We have a? Kinetico water system with a big pre-filter. When I have the opportunity to fill the tank from a hose at a campground, I use the? water filter cartridge I use with hookups. Usually I fill two 5 gal buckets and transfer the water to the tank with a siphon hose. Only occasionally do the hydrants have a means of attaching the water filter cartridge.

Hi all you northerners, I'm planning a trip to the Superior NF, MN for September.? I'll arrive there on the weekend of 09/10-09/11 at Fall Lake in Ely.? This year they have a Harvest Moon Festival on that weekend.? Do you think I need to make a reservation to be sure that I get a site at Fall Lake?? I noticed that you hadn't received a reply to your question.? It sounds like you have the correct approach.? My pigtail started leaking and I bought the Camco replacement.? It turned out the NPT to flare adapter was already screwed into the bypass valve, so I didn't need to buy another. I removed it, and put new Teflon tape on the NPT threads before reinstalling, then screwed in the flare fitting.? I tested with soapy water to ensure no leaks.
