The water pump in our 2012 Expedition has failed to pump water a number of times. Each? time the water tank has to be drained and? removed to reach the filter and spin it off. A few times there was visible stuff in the filter but a surprisingly small amount. This time it was a ring of sealant about the size of a dime. Each time the pump works after reassembly. The last two times I filled the tank from the hose at home. We have a? Kinetico water system with a big pre-filter. When I have the opportunity to fill the tank from a hose at a campground, I use the? water filter cartridge I use with hookups. Usually I fill two 5 gal buckets and transfer the water to the tank with a siphon hose. Only occasionally do the hydrants have a means of attaching the water filter cartridge.
Any suggestions for more reliability from our water pump?
