Re: Out Feed Table
Really nice. You have the added advantage of knowing precisely where the blade will cut which makes it a lot easier to line up the piece of material you are cutting.

Out Feed Table
I just made an out feed table for my saw. The write up is here:
(Please let me know if it is "un-cool" to reference another group instead of posting the whole thing here.)

Re: Rong Fu Industrial Introduction
Thanks Dave
The base casting of the Packard is very different from the std RF or HF.
When you think about it, the whole vice table is stronger without the curved slot and the angling of the 'fixed'

Re: Rong Fu Industrial Introduction
That is the way it's mounted; any other configuration would let the saw cut through the wires right away.

Re: Rong Fu Industrial Introduction
Hi Rick
I added shims between the pivot arm and the sawframe casting to get the blade? to change angle between the side (flank) of the blade and the vice table. But I felt it put to much strain on

Re: Rong Fu Industrial Introduction
Hi Rick
It will shift the line of the guides in relation to the bandwheels a bit,
but not significantly and won't hurt the blade. However you shouldn't need
to do this on an internal guide

Re: Rong Fu Industrial Introduction
Try mounting a small wire wheel, so it turns with the blade.
A lot of bigger saws come that way.

I like the idea of the felt wipers. I was thinking of a similar idea with toothbrushes or small wire brushes.

Seb,
I used two small ¡°L¡± brackets with ¡°stick-on¡± felt. They are held in place with 4 dime sized ceramic magnets. They are free to ¡°float¡± a little on the magnets so have never

I don't believe I've seen this mentioned..I have mounted air nozzles [1/16th copper tube from manifold] which are aimed at the blade after it passes by the locating wheels aft of the cut to blow the

John,
As an experiment, I added an 1/8-inch thick strip of metal on one side of the top and bottom blade guide supports.
This is the top support. On the right side, the bar is in contact

John,
It took a bit of filing in the ¡°leg¡± casting (arm to pivot rod), but I was able to slide it over enough to get a decently straight cut in the horizontal position. The cut is cupped less
