I am often in the position where I have to translate something like this to English and then I always?rephrase, but it gets clumsy. Can you add information after the apostrophe s indicating possession, either in brackets or commas, before the thing possessed (if that makes any sense). Or is it always?better to rephrase and use "of"?

In both cases, the man is called ?“Mr Maegala’s”. That’s wrong. Change to the “dismissal of Mr Magaela”. If it’s necessary, “employee” can be added before or after the name. ? That’s what you did in the second version of the DWS sentence, and it works well. ?

Ek sien grondbesettings wel op die internet. Eintlik moet mens seker van “gevalle van grondbesetting” sê, maar mens kan dit seker ook gelykstel aan ?“daar? is meer moorde gepleeg” en “daar was meer gevalle van moord”. Dis meer ’n geval van idiomatiek/tradisie as van logika, vermoed ek. Mens kry wel meervoude soos inbrake, verkragtings en moorde, maar nie eintlik diefstalle nie en beslis nie bedr?e of bedriegings of mynede nie. ? Felix qui potuit cognoscere rerum causas, het Virgilius gesê. En ook een van die seerowers in die Asterix-boeke. Dis waar ek my Latynse spreuke kry. ? Wat “die volle krag van die wet in die gesig staar” betref, dit klink nie vir my baie daadkragtig nie. Meer soos kyk wie eerste o? knip. Ek gluur vir jou en jy gluur vir my. ?So what?
