My FTdx-3000 has the blinking transmit light issue. I have factory reset the radio several times, left it unplugged for days, disconnected everything to insure some external source was not keying the radio, etc . Nothing seemed to restore it and clear the blinking transmit light. I am ready to throw in the towel and send it off to repair. I am located in New England (Connecticut). Are my only options Spring Hill, FL or Cypress, CA? Shipping is a bear. I would really like to find a location closer to me and better yet one I could drive to and drop the unit off for repair. I was going to use the 13.5V output (J2001) from the back of the 920 to power an Ameritron ARB-704 amplifier/radio interface. I have no power at jack J2001. The Op manual says the connection is fused. Looking at the schamatic the fuse is identified more like a switch symbol than a fuse symbol as Q2037 ICP-F10. With the bottom cover off I see no obvious fuse. Where is the fuse for the J2001 13.5V jack? I hope and figure Yaesu was smart enough not to bury the fuse deep in the build. Can anyone point me to the fuse? Thank you 73 Harrison N1FAM

Hi I am trying to use the external output for speaker (rear) to pass the output signal through an AUTEK QF-1 Audio Filter and then split the output signal either to an external speaker or a headphones. The signal is fine for external speaker but not the headphones, reading over there I found that I should use like an attenuator for the headphones (my HS-5 Kenwood 8 ohms), a voltage divider, is that correct? but if both have the same impedance how to keep both and reduce the voltage for headphones? a bit confused, sorry Thanks 73S Juan, EA5XQ

Hi all, im wanting to know if it's possible to use my ham antenna as a sdr receive antenna and also if i can connect the same antenna to my yaesu frg7 Am i right in thinking that there is no antenna output on the back of the FT920 only receive in? I know that i can get a addon board the iface2 that taps the if output from the 920 to feed a sdr which is fine, but is there a way to feed the frg7 safely without damaging it while transmitting? Hello to All, HNY to everyone. Please I have an issues with my Yaesu FT-920. If I try to decrease the VFO using the Shuttle Jog ( I mean the inner VFO knob ), the frequency instead to Decrease it increase. I notice if I push the JOG to the left quickly to the end so the issue appears, Viceversa if I just push just a little to the left it decrease correctly and then I can continue to push the JOG till the end it will still work correctly. Honestly I do not know if it is a correct behaviour or it is an issue. Please if it is an issue how to solve it? Hi to all I have just purchased a FT 920, After recording the 4 messages on the DVR it plays back and is audible, but does not go into transmit mode, Also antenna B is like their is no antenna plugged in, Antenna A works fine, I have done factory reset and full reset removing the underside panel, Any ideas. kind regards Vinny M0TAV

Hi just bought a near mint FT920 from a local for ?50 gbp. of course it'#s faulty. so lights up, good sign.. no TX, RX is good using a signal generator but no sound.. speak 'clicks' on switch on and beep is heard, audio IC good. using the tuner it will try to tune and produce a solid 100w. tuner won't stop. done the soft reset, hard reset. double and triple checked all plugs, sockets and switches. a bit of research sways towards the Eprom being corrupt ?? Any ideas ?? thanks..

Hi, I have a problem with my tuner, the motors work perfectly but on the 12 and 17 meter bands and occasionally on the 10 meters the tuner doesn't work correctly, I've done all the resets but it doesn't work, what could it be? Greetings iz8jfa

I had to do a master reset on my FT-920. I don't remember what the setting for menus U45 and U46. Been several years since I set the radio up. I set U45 to 0 and U46 to 1700 Hz. That is from my notes and memory. With those setting when the radio was tuned to 50313000 the display reads 50312850. Can anyone using an FT-920 please tell me what setting they are using and if there are any other changes from default they use. Thank you for any assistance. -- Wes WA5TKU

Hello friends, i have a FT-920 which has a Problem with no PLL lock (frequency display is flashing). I found that the 2nd LO isn't producing any output. So i checked Q2028, Q2029 and all surrounding components. Also the crystal X2001 (60,77MHz) was checked with an VNA and looked good. So i have Q2027 (2SK210GR FET) in suspicion. But this component tested good in a cheap multi-function tester... Where and what could i check next? 73 Sebastian

Hello Group, my 920 started losing all tx power after 1-2 hrs use but after a while it would return and the radio would work fine , last night it finally gave up, the radio fires up and receives no problem but no Tx power on any band, i'm assuming i need a pair of new MRF's or has anybody else experienced this. thanks in advance.

I searched the group and have not found this subject. Does the FT-920 have an RF spike when PTT is applied? A lot of radios of that vintage do but have not seen or heard of the FT920 having it. -- Wes WA5TKU

Hey friends, i have a FT-920 which has some strange problems. When turning on the TRX with 13.8V supply, it makes strange noises and you can't hear any signal/noise. If i'm lowering the voltage to about 11.8V, RX works without problems. I have replaced Q9002 (12V Voltage Regulator), Q9003 (Switching Controller) and Q9001- still the same.
