Re: TNC-Pi9K6 - Anyone having success with this TNC?
First question is: What packet baud rate do you have configured? Normal APRS is at 1200 baud using Bell 202 modem tones. If your TNC-Pi9K6 isn't set for that (such as being set for 9600 baud G3RUH

TNC-Pi9K6 - Anyone having success with this TNC?
Hello, I have a PiGate, and the setup (TNC, Radio and cable) works well. Have made a new image now and installed YAAC. But I am not able to use the Pi9k6. I don't get any APRS messages when trying

Re: Lost top level menu
That is strange. It sounds like you had a startup failure after it created the first window, but before it set up the menus. Can you privately send me the YAAC.out file from your YAAC logdir

Lost top level menu
When I upgraded my YAAC v163 to a newer version (on a Linux PC); I lost the top level menu...no File, no View, etc. The shortcut keys to those menu would not work either. As of this writing, I am not

Re: next beta build#171 of YAAC, created 2022-Feb-04
Don't forget that if you reset the CMOS power the TNC may revert to needing to see a bunch of carriage returns in order to sense the serial speed.? At least, that's what my MFJ-1278 does.? You'll

Re: next beta build#171 of YAAC, created 2022-Feb-04
Must be a problem in my TNC, then. It still is not returning to KISS mode on YAAC shutdown. I think my next step is to pull the TNC out and rig up a couple switches to allow me to cut power and CMOS

Re: Return TNC From KISS Mode ???
Far from readable. All garbled special characters, with readable bits and pieces, like callsigns, locations, names, etc. That's why I assumed it was still in KISS mode. Remember, I'm from the old

Re: Return TNC From KISS Mode ???
Ah, what does this traffic you see in the PUTTY session to the TNC look like? Complete readable TNC2-format frames, or garbled text (i.e., actual KISS-encapsulated AX.25

Re: Return TNC From KISS Mode ???
Well, most of that went over my head, sorry. Is the TCPIP/JNOS program an app that I can run? I've never seen a JNOW prompt. Do I see that in the TCPIP/JNOS program? The way equipment is configured,

Re: Return TNC From KISS Mode ???
In the mfj manual for a 1270/1274 manual it mentions that you can issue the command "parm ax0 255" from TCPIP/JNOS program to exit kiss mode from the JNOW prompt. I seem to recall another keyboard

Re: Return TNC From KISS Mode ???
Actually, no, not yet. With your configuration, YAAC should be sending a KISS protocol frame with the command code 0xFF as the first and only byte in the frame. By the KISS protocol specification,

Re: YAAC restarts on RPi if exited using window X
Whew! I'm glad to hear this. I was wondering how the users were getting themselves into this state, because I knew there was nothing coded into YAAC itself that would do this. Andrew, KA2DDO author

Yes, I am using Build-a-Pi.? ?I submitted this entry as in the Build-a-Pi groups.io, you suggested it was a YAAC problem. I will look for the next release of Build-a-Pi. and I edited the YAAC file

Re: YAAC restarts on RPi if exited using window X
Are you using Build a Pi? If so, there is an issue in my code that is causing YAAC to restart. https://github.com/km4ack/pi-build/issues/375 This should be resolved in the next release of Build a
