I have the same problem, there is a batchfile YAAC in the folder YAAC in the home dir, there with every update a new line with the start command is added. Delete all additional lines and the problem is solved until next update

?What exactly do you mean by "YAAC restarts"? Does the map window go away and then come right back up? Or does a different YAAC window appear (possibly one hidden behind the newly-closed window)? Note that the Messages window will auto-open if a message addressed to your station is received (or any APRS text message if you choose that option on the Messages window), and covering it up with another YAAC window does not close it.
Note that closing one YAAC window does not close all of them, so if you have a dozen YAAC windows open, you would have to close all of them individually to get the whole application to exit by using the X button instead of the File->Exit menu choice.
Also, how did you start YAAC in the first place?

Subject: [yaac-users] YAAC restarts on RPi if exited using window X
I am running YAAC 1.0 beta 170 29-Jan-2022 on a Raspberry Pi. If I exit YAAC by clicking on the X in the upper right of the window, YAAC restarts, If I select File > Exit program, then it ends without restarting. This behavior also happened on v167. I upgraded to the latest version to be sure it was not fixed.
YAAC does not restart if I close it by clicking on the X on Windows 10.
