Hide TX Section of the FLDigi Screen
It would be nice if there was an option to hide the TX portion of the screen to allow more room for RX traffic.
?
I am not doing any transmitting and I am sure other hams and SWL folks just might desire more receive room on the screen.? I already have set Rig/Log Controls to None.
?
Whoever the powers to be are, please consider this.
?
Thanks very much.? This is a great program.

flrig server/client question
I found "Hamrs" software to assist in logging Pota stations, and although there are a few settings I don't like, this email is to ask about the server/client option flrig provides ( used by Hamrs).
?
when I use flrig, on my desktop, but qsy via wsjtx, flrig follows by cat port used.
?
If I use hamrs on a laptop, then use the server/client option on that laptop.? ?hamrs on that maching, will cause the main machine to follow and cause the radio to qsy ( although mode dos not follow)
my question, is , Is the main flrig suppose to go backwards and cause the client to qsy.? it does not at this moment
?
?
?
it seems to be one way only.? is that correct?

Re: Fldigi UI has me flummoxed
This depends on the rig and the rig control?software being used. In general, the left hand field displays the mode of the rig IF this is handled by rg ctonrl software. In general the right hand field would be filter width?IF filter width is controlled by the rig control software. On Thu, Mar 27, 2025 at 3:16?PM Bill KD9TWA via <kd9twa=[email protected]> wrote:

Fldigi UI has me flummoxed
I have a super basic question. What is the section of the UI called that contains the frequency window, the logging area, etc., and specifically, the mode and bandwidth section called? It's the area between the header and the macro section.?
?
?
?
I'm looking for a description of all?of the functions in that area. Without knowing the correct nomenclature, I can't search. Is there an image that has ball-notes for each item/button?
?
Thanks

Re: Yaesu FT-818, SCU-17 and flrig 2.0.05 on Win 10
I think the issue is the sound card does not have a wide enough bandwidth. j On Thu, Mar 27, 2025 at 12:50?AM Oliver von Sehlen via <ollijopp=[email protected]> wrote:

Hi all,
?
Just a little quirk I noticed (and which caused me quite some cursing and despair):
When the FT-818 is in WFM mode (say, used as an ordinary FM radio receiver for your favourite FM broadcast station) and you try to connect it to flrig, the program crashes when trying to initialize the radio.
?
Workaround:
Simply switch the transceiver out of the WFM band (say, to any of the normal Ham radio bands, Shortwave or 2m/70cm) before trying to connect to flrig.
?
Thought you might want to know before running into the same issue.

They DO mention "RA Board" and "CMedia GPIO3" in the PTT section, though.Yes, they do...leading to my confusion about needing a board. has one of the answers, but I needed to read 2 blocks to get the answer. GPIO3 (RA-Board), Each can be disabled via solder pads. &&& PTT by VOX (enabled by default), PTT by GPIO3 (enabled by default) I now understand this means that 1. Both PTT methods are enabled on the lite as shipped 2. Either method can be used without disabling the other *** *** This is not stated. Perseus and WEFAX Decorers
Greetings,
?
I have an issue with the Perseus with FLDigi an BlackCat WEFAX (the only two decoders that I have.
?
Note the vertical interference marks showing on both decoders.? However on the Perseus, there is not such interference shown in the spectrum nor the waterfall view. Both picture attached to show the Perseus is not showing the interference
?
When I use my RSPdx and HF+ Discovery, this situation does NOT occur.? I am using the same antenna for all three radios.? I have tried the Perseus/decoders set with a VAC and also the signal to the PC speakers.
?
Does anyone have any possible ideas what might be causing the vertical interference lines?
?
By the way, I have tried powering the Perseus with a PSU from Jameco and with a USB cable.
?
One more thing:? I can not get the brightness and the other slide switches to work on the right-hand side next to the spectrum/waterfall screen.? I have never notices an issue before.
?
Regards,
George

WATERFALL HEIGHT?
#fldigi-parameters
Dumb question but on one of my computers I can't seem to expand upward the waterfall.
What setting in FLDIGI config file do move the waterfall up and down.
Thanks Dave

Re: MacBook OS and Failure to Transmit
Yeah.? Some people have a hard time understanding unless they can see it.
?
For those that complain about video quality, I'm neither a youtuber nor a maker of fine videos.? It's worth every penny they paid for it.
?
I can sorta see why digirig doesn't want to mention the words "RA Board" because it's a competing product (as your "Wait!" quote in prior email illustrated).? And, perhaps (I dunno fer sher), because digirig decided on the CMedia chipset to leverage the software support already established by that competing product.? Totally don't know about that, but kinda makes sense.
?
It's all written out in the Digirig Lite Setup Manual: ?
?
They DO mention "RA Board" and "CMedia GPIO3" in the PTT section, though.
?
Hope that helps.

Re: MacBook OS and Failure to Transmit
Very nice video. I'm sure that some will criticize the sometimes fuzzy image, but it succinctly provides exactly what I wanted to know. I have recommended it to digirig in my discussion with them.
Also, fldigi has the same setting in Rig Control > C-Media PTT. I just didn't understand how it all works, in part because the fldigi manual itself mentions the boards, leaving me with the impression that I needed the board. I don't have the lite, so I can't test this. But I wonder why digirig isn't more clear about this for the newbie, rather than drag in the board issue. That should be a footnote, not a main point. Thanks for taking the time. Way more than I could have done, and a top notch answer. 73 ~R~ On 2025-03-25 12:16:, W4MRP via groups.io wrote: |
Re: MacBook OS and Failure to Transmit
Yes, you can use the digirig lite without anything extra.? With a HT and I assume any other radio for which you have digirig cables.
?
You don't need any other board.? No RA Board.? No DRA.??
?
I made a leeetle veeedio just for you to show it working in FLDIGI and Winlink/VARA-FM:
