Winegard Woes 8
So the 1992 camper had a very old Winegard batwing antennae, and NO boost on the wall plate on the inside, just ports for cables ("antennae" and "cable"). Borrowing a new HD TV, I set it up and got 13 analog channels -- mostly public tv and preaching, but whatever. I got fancy and ordered a Winegard Sensar IV replacement head (not the whole unit), thinking it would add channels -- NOT! Went down to 8 channels, lost all my preachers! LOOOONNNNNG conversation with a very sweet young lady at Winegard, and it was apparent she was never the kid sent up the old attic ladder to rotate the antennae, as she couldn't grasp that there was no power to the wall outlet (she kept insisting there HAD to be power). And she had no idea why I got less channels. And when I asked if there was anyone else in the office who might know, it kinda ticked her off -- long holds while she "checked with her supervisor," which may mean she was getting a cup of coffee, or a valium, or both. I asked about the LNA-100 tv booster ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BN5Z2UY/?coliid=I2D8BJ0RXEDCXH&colid=3QXU11ZAQMHIX&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_itter ), but she said it wouldn't work ("too much amplification"). I asked if the new antennae was defective, but she said no -- I guess they are pretty simple. Finally she said I needed to buy this RFL 342 booster and install with "power" and I assume she meant 12 volt. ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NFTOLY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 ). So what do all the OG's here think? 1.Try the booster that plugs in between the TV and the antennae, using the USB to power it from the 220 outlet plate next to the cable plate? 2.Return the Sensar IV, replace the old batwing, and give up? 3.Keep it and try to run 12 volt wires thru the upper cabinet from the undercabinet light fixture and install the LNA 100? 4. Read a book instead? BTW I asked the guys at Camping World (the seventh level of hell, I know) and they were recommending an old face plate with a 12 volt receptacle RA 7296 ( https://www.amazon.com/Winegard-18-9847-RA-7296-Signal-Amplifier-White/dp/B000GGJQLW/ref=sr_1_13?crid=VXITS5CZXR45&keywords=winegard+ra7596&qid=1687899573&sprefix=winegard+ra7596%2Caps%2C323&sr=8-13 ). Driving with air bags deflated 4
Is it OK to drive a toyhouse (1991 Warrior) limited distances (like 10 miles on good roads) with rear air bags deflated? Will that tend to overstress the rear leaf springs, or do any other unfriendly things? Thanks... Rick in NH

Just got an email from Groups.io Notification that my last post was "edited by a group moderator." Does that mean that is isn't going to be posted? I did have links in the message so folks could see what product I was referring to. Slightly confused, Sue

Cabinet Door 5
If anyone has a spare upper cabinet door for an Itasca, I need one. The previous owners removed one to install a very old microwave, which has been jury rigged with a power cord into the electric outlet on the front of the kitchen cabinet. I would actually use the cabinet more than the microwave! I am so happy with the new camper, although it's taking a bit of work and $ to set up. Now I have to get the 93 rear dinette ready to sell! Thanks, Sue 92 Rear Bath Itasca 93 Rear Dinette Warrior

Moderated Ghost in the machine 6
I came out to my '87 Toy Dolphin to find the windshield wipers going! Spooky! I pulled the fuse, and they kept going! I had to disconnect the connector at the wiper motor. (If they didn't stop then, I would have run away very fast.) My guess is that some 35 year old piece of plastic broke that was keeping the park switch open, and it closed, which will run the wipers continuously, and since that switch is fed directly from the battery, pulling the fuse won't help. Now to Rock Auto for a Cardone reconditioned unit.

1986 Sunrader 4
Hi there - I inherited a 1986 Toyota Sunrader from my Uncle. It has been driven 78,000 miles. Frankly, I'm an extreme newbie at owning it. In restoring the electrical system, the two battery system (marine and car) was replaced and it now has a single (truck battery). There is also a newly installed solar panel. A new hot water heater was installed as, in its original configuration, none existed. Much of the interior water pipes have also been replaced as there were leaks in the system. Unfortunately, there is no owners manual or operating guides, so I am taking many small steps in learning how to use the Sunrader. I could use your all advice: -battery usage. In de-winterizing the Sunrader and turning on the water pump (without starting the engine) the battery was drained ¡ª we needed to jump start it in order to start the Sunrader. Has anyone experienced this before? - operating manuals. Is there a source for owner manuals/operating guides? Specific youtube videos? We would like to use every part of the Sunrader and an information source would be helpful in our learning, especially in after-market additions like the hot water heater. - solar panel. Is there a way to tell what the solar panel is powering? For instance, is there a way it can keep the truck battery powered charged even if the engine is not on? What has been your experience in using solar panels? Thanking you all in advance! Tami Reusink

Update on speedometer/odometer 2
Everything now works!!! It was the console. They replaced a couple parts and re soldered. It has a 5 year warranty. Best of all the business is 8 miles from me! That meant I was able to just drop it off. Total cost was $150. The company is Module Master in Moscow Idaho. 208-892-0664. They have a website. Toyotas aren¡¯t listed but since I had my own they were able to fix it. Only took a week. Thanks everybody for all the help. I removed and reinstalled it by myself thanks to the YouTube video. Super easy and no leftover parts ?

Mount microwave oven in 1991 Warrior 3
One of my off-season projects this year is to install a small microwave oven in the 1991 Warrior toyhouse. We have one now that we have been powering from a 210-AH battery and 1KW inverter and it works well, but we have to place it on the shelf above the fridge when we stop, and remove it and belt it in to one of the dinette seats when getting underway, kind of a pain and I'd prefer to mount it more or less semi-permanently. Anybody got any suggestions on how best to mount it? I'd like to put in some kind of vibration absorber to prevent damage when driving on rough roads (happens occasionally). I'm thinking that hard-bolting it to the shelf above the fridge is likely to transmit too much vibration and shock to the oven, perhaps damaging it. So far I haven't been able to find any sort of vibration absorber that will work. Rick in NH

Compressor for rear air bags, 1991 Warrior 8
Anyone have experience with or recommendations for an air compressor for the rear air bags, maybe something with a gauge that mounts in the cab, and either automatic on-off to keep the bags pumped up, or a switch next to the gauge to turn the compressor on and off? Currently I carry a Ryobi air compressor and have to crawl down and pump up the bags every few days which is mildly annoying, and I'd prefer something I can control from the cab. Thanks...

misfire issue 5
Hello all! Longtime lurker, but I got a lot of help from all the posts for many years. I'm having an issue with my 1987 Travelmaster Savannah, 4 cylinder, auto trans. Driving it for the first time this year, it started misfiring badly under acceleration. With no load, the engine revs fine. I changed the distributor cap and rotor, as well as the plugs and wires. No joy. I was looking into fuel delivery next, but I'm having a problem locating the fuel pump and filter. Can someone here point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance! Ray
