Thanks Roger, did all of that still nothing. In win7 when I plug it in the USB never responds in any way at all like as if nothing ever was connected at all. Nothing in the device manager, and nothing under devices. Tried several times with the drivers, tried cleaning the registry, etc.....then switched to win 10 thinking it would be easy there....no luck.

With Win7 you need to manually install the driver. See the Wiki in this group for details..
