Yes, the Albums. I can see I have picture ¡®A¡¯ in my library, but also in an iPhoto Events album named ¡®Christmas 2001¡¯.
I think iPhoto used to make albums of photos based on events or dates.

No, when you delete photos from a Mac using iCloud Photos, the photo place marker is not left in iCloud;
