#photo-notice
I need to build a platform on top of my apartment building to get 360 degrees clean space for my new babyloop.
My babyloop is a 1 meter loop.
The platform will be at the corner of the building. It

I cannot find John Delvodere's,?ON4UN, book "Low Band DX'ing" on the RSGB web site.
The ARRL cleared out their stock of the current (5th) edition a few years ago.? They have since reprinted it, but

Well Done That Man!
There is a key point in comparing active loops by off-air signals that now you can appreciate. If you are in an average or bad urban setting then the noise floor is so high that

Have just moved from Dagenham to Bittaford inside the dartmoor national park..
Noise floor on 160-40 dropped from s7 to s1.( occasionally s3) .and thats on the Marconi T tx

The basic problem is that when you are inside a building you are surrounded by wiring conducting high noise levels? from the vast number of electrical devices near by. These fields are NEAR FIELDS,

You don't need an antenna at all nor a receiver.? Use a remote receiver via the web, KiwiSDR link <cid:part1.DDlP00Fb.gQCFrCr1@...>
Each receiver varies a great deal in performance and it's

The UK doesn't end at the M25, does it?
Is it a horizontal (wrapped around the ceiling) or a vertical loop
(wrapped around the window)?

A regen receiver relies on being on the edge of oscillation. Any extra tuned circuits coupled to the transistor will pull that off frequency, and likely cause it to shift between the resonant

I am convinced, that the greatest problem is the stability, which you can not achieve with regen.
When you receive SSB or CW, even some better commercial receivers (such as SONY ICF 7600) are

Regens are just fun. What other total receiver can offer demod of AM, CW,
SSB, and FM in a pinch through slope detection with a single active
device?! Sure, they're finicky, but perfect for us old

Good question Ottavio,
The thing that comes to mind is that with regens strong signals can injection lock the oscillator. Feature or bug depends on usage. Good for AM usually but not for CW or
