Re antenna..as have also lived in similar situation ( long time ago) I can confirm that a rx loop inside will just about work, but don¡¯t expect miracles. The list of man made rf noise you will discover is endless.
Is it a horizontal (wrapped around the ceiling) or a vertical loop
(wrapped around the window)?
