Locked Re: Test version 3.7.7 of JMRI/DecoderPro is available for download

It tells you the current Production version, current development version and what version you are currently using. There is also a button that is supposed to take you to the jmri download page but that failed just now when I tried it.

Locked Re: CTC Traffic Levers - Location?

Jim,

All CTC machines were custom built to railroad specs., but I can say that Santa Fe had Traffic Levers (when used) on the signal level, with no switch lever in that column. Also, the lever would be "Left, Held, and Right", that is with the "Held" in the cetnter straight up position.

Subject: [jmriusers] CTC Traffic Levers - Location?

Greeting all!

Quick technical question: On a US&S CTC machine, what row would TRAFFIC

levers be placed in? Switch or Signal?

I'm doing a pair of traffic levers that control directional signaling on two

sections of ABS/APB territory that approach the CTC territory. I want to be

able to LOCK traffic OUT so I'm thinking a 3 position lever (Traffic L,

Traffic R and held) which I'd think would be best on the signal lever

level... Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Jim Duncan

Hi Bob,

Not today.

Can you send me your files so I can take a look at why your report is so long?

Locked operations: track analysis

Using the preview or print option in the 'locations' screen it is possible to produce a 'track analysis', but the report on my system runs to 17 pages of car types.

Is there way to obtain a .csv or .txt file so that I could use some program to shorten this report and get only select car types?

Thanks

Bob

Locked Re: Windows Always on top option not working

I tried the NCE command monitor using my Win7 PC and JMRI 3.8 and the always on top worked for me. System console also worked correctly.

Locked 3.7.7 failingh to install java on Win 7 32-bit

Hi

I just tried installing 3.7.7 on a new build, chose the install for all users option. It asked if I wanted to download java and when I clicked yes it briefly popped up a command box followed by a no java found message.

On two PCs, one at the club and mine at home, running Windows 7, the Windows always on top option is not working for the Loconet Monitor and the the NCE Command Monitor. It is working for the System Console window.

Is there something I need to do to make this work other than checking the option?

Locked Lenz Standard+ Decoder Lighting CV values

I have found that the default CV values placed in CVs 33-35 by DecoderPro for the Lenz Standard decoder are not correct. For the earlier Silver, Lenz used 8, 16 and 32 as default values for CVs 33-35 but the later Standard+ uses 1, 2 and 4. For the Standard decoder, Decoder Pro from the Function screen uses the values for the Silver decoder.

Perhaps I am not using the correct selection process... From the opening window I read the decoder type from the decoder and then selected the Standard. Should I have done something else?

Thanks for a wonderful system, you JMRI people!

Peter

Locked Re: DecoderPro 3 a couple of minor bugs

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your response.

I am using Win7 and V3.7.7 but you may have seen Paul's reply.
It is my ancient Lenz LI100 which is the problem.
When I have had time to try my Lenz LAN/USB I will report back.

Brian

Thank you, Dan.

Locked Re: DecoderPro 3 a couple of minor bugs

Hi Paul

Thanks for the response!
Yes, it is an LI100!!
I do also have a 23151 LAN/USB but have never really got on with it.
Perhaps I should persevere and try it again.

I appreciate that the LI100 is legacy and do not expect a fix as thanks to you I now know the problem is it and not Decoder Pro.
I will probably not need to use the Read All pages again as all my locos are in the roster or if I do it will be for just a one off.

Decoder Pro really made programming the Zimo easy.

Regards

Brian

Okay,

I'll add an option of only show trains that can work the location or track.

Locked Re: DecoderPro 3 a couple of minor bugs

Does the lock-up with Read All Sheets happen with V3.7.7? This was first observed with ESU and Digitrax recently and we though we had it fixed for V3.7.7.

What computer operating system and version are you using?

1) I read all my decoders into the roster on the program track.
The decoders being Lenz, ESU and Zimo in each case after a read of all sheets the Lenz hand throttles ( LH90 & LH100 ) are left with the display locked up still showing Pro.
The only way out of this is to either unplug each throttle from Xbus or to power up and down the LZ100.
Reading a single sheet does not appear to cause this problem.

Hi Bill,

Yes, that is the setting of CV 62 to 0 to disable the voice feedback. That was the first thing I did after every factory reset to ensure I was not tripping myself up.

Hi Nick and all,

The one item I wanted to include and forgot. Thanks for the catch. Yes, have the Tony's PowerPax connected to the programming track outputs.

I never had a problem reading (except turbo volume) on the programming track.

There is a "Check for Updates", not an auto update.

It's located in the Help dropdown menu.

Locked Re: Anyone having problems with Norton AV downloading JMRI 3.7.6

Robin and Lou,

Problem resolved, but not with 3.7.6

No matter what I tried, my Win 7 pc wouldn't download nor execute this test package. I was able to configure NAV to allow the download finally, but then I was informed I didn't have permissions to install the downloaded executable. Odd - I've never had this problem before and I haven't done anything to my pc since my last successful download of JMRI 3.7.4

Based on very recent new topic, I just successfully downloaded 3.7.7 and installed it with no manipulation of NAV nor permissions. No idea what the difference is between 3.7.6 and 3.7.7, but JMRI 3.7.7-r26293 was successful. Thanks for the responses and thanks to the JMRI team for producing 3.7.7!

Wain
