Re: CTC Model Board

I’d like to move a few columns, add some Call-Ons, and change a few signal levers from 3-position to 2-position. ?It’s easy enough to edit the graphics on the model board - not so easy to move switches and add functions. ?I like the CTC GUI generation tool and would prefer to use that.

Re: Cannot start to read decoders

Hello again,
?
sorry but this did not work. I reinstalled several times, used English an my on German? language. Interestingly, it works for me for one or two or there entries, but then ist stops working. In the very last line (status line?) of the create new loco Window it comes up with normal messages, i.e. reading cv xyz etc., but then it displays (not every time) "pause..." instead of idle and the "Read Type" field and the "Open Comprehensive ..." fields are grey out.
There is also a simple programmer which has the READ CV field greyed out, the Write CV field is avtive.
I can control a loco with the throttle tough ! It is not version dependant, as I use same versions on both PCs - I assume it is dependant on Windows, I use 21H2 and 24H2 - on the former it works on the latter it does not. It seems to me something is locking itself out inside the JMRI.

Re: Cannot start to read decoders

..thats a funny one - will try it this evening and report back !

Re: Unable to Delete a Sensor; Then a Java Error Displays when Storing the XML

Hi Bob,
?
Thanks for reporting this, also jmrilog.txt which provided me with the stack trace required.
The issue could potentially occur with a few other JMRI resources ( e.g. WiThrottle server ) upon deleting the Route alignment Sensor.
?
I've gradually been tweaking Routes for increased reliability in future JMRI versions, i.e.
?
- Route - add CheckForNull annotation
- update wiThrottle RouteController
- AbstractXmlAdapter / AbstractNamedBeanManagerConfigXML string constants
- update RouteExportToLogix
- update DefaultRouteManager Xml
- RouteTable output table listeners
- Route Add / Edit Frame lint
?
?
Again thanks for reporting !

Re: Automatic Dispatching

Hi Bill
?
I don’t suppose you are up for trying a totally different approach? But I too was trying a few different aproaches to automate trains via JMRI 10 years ago on my very small layout.
?
I ended up creating signal controlled warrants and a Jython script.
?
You can see the history on my homepage. Use the translate button to the lower left, if your Danish is a bit rusty.
?
?
The past few years, I did not have a layout. But now that I am setting up a new layout (on shelves and with a train elevator in the middle - but that is a different story), I realized that the pages above did not really tell me, how I actually had been setting it all up. Hence I tried to document that here:
?
If you are interested in the latest version of the Jython script including control og the train elevator (not fully tested yet), you can find it here:

Re: Lock Control Panel Position on Tablet

Attached showing what happens when I swipe up and left. I want the panel to be locked so that accidental swiping does not move the panel on the tablet's viewport.

Re: DecoderPro Opens every time as a new install

George,
?
As a long delayed afterthought, it should be said that this windows 11 laptop is almost always carried to the club and requires the login process when opened while there.?
?
We are developing a large expansion to our layout and my team is responsible for installing and testing the LCC electronics.? Much of that is done from home, but the critical work has to be verified while connected to the LCC network.??
?
My password cannot be verified via the internet while there.??
?
Tomorrow while getting ready to go home, I will shut it off and restart it to see if I can duplicate your problem.

Re: PanelPro New Feature - Panel Swipe Navigation on Tablet

I do not want to randomly navigate. My existing linking labels work fine however I am proposing that attributes be added to the panel, let's call them "Swipe_R" and "Swipe_L". If panel1 Swipe_R = panelA and panel1 Swipe_L = panelB then when I'm on panel1 and I swipe right then panelA will be on top and if I'm on panel1 and I swipe left then panelB will be on top. Linking labels would not be needed to navigate. Is this feasible?

Re: Lock Control Panel Position on Tablet

Ok, now the "powered by jmri" footer is gone but I think my panels are just a little too big for the tablet viewport because I am still able to move the whole panel about 1/4" down and 1/4" to the right on the tablet.

Re: Lock Control Panel Position on Tablet

I just noticed I have */ instead of /* at the beginning of the 2 comments. Let me go change that.

Re: Lock Control Panel Position on Tablet

Steve, attachment1 shows my user files location and the location of my new user.css file. Attachment2 shows the contents of the new user.css file.
The footer "powered by jmri" still shows on my panels after clearing the tablet cache. I am using the fully kiosk browser. My indentation is 2 spaces. I am missing something.

Re: Cannot start to read decoders

Erik, I suspect we'll hear from others on this, but I noticed what I believe is the same behavior on my system, and perhaps it was a change made during a recent update.? When you open your Roster, click on any entry and you'll see that the buttons at the bottom right will transition from "greyed out" to "active."? It was a head-scratcher for me until I found the solution, and I recall restarting JMRI several times before I discovered it.? HTH!

JMRI Wont Start

I remover JAVA 11 and installed JAVA 17 then JMRI 5.10, Would not open or start. Then JMRI 5.11.4 Would not open or start.
?
I have used windows JMRI for loading a new JMRI. I been using JMRI for years. Due to getting hit by fraud my CU had me clear every thing off this computer and reload the applications and files.
?
What to do?

Is there a way to keep my model board “as-is” while reconfiguring some of the columns?
I am not currently a user of JMRI's newer "CTC" tools, but I have experimented with it, before deciding to "do it myself" without the JMRI newer CTC tool.

But I have to ask, what "reconfiguration" do you want to do - that does not affect the "model board"? Understanding that seems important to get a usable answer for your question(s)...

Re: Unable to turn dark mode on #preferences

Oops. Having it in the 5.9.7 release note was my mistake. Sorry. Being fixed now.

5.11.5 will have it (it should be released in a week or so) or you can wait until 5.12 to be released sometime around June.

That mention in 5.9.7 is a mistake and I will pass it on to be fixed

Re: SML for Reversing Loops

Ralph,

The track plan violates the poorly documented rule that there can only be one direct connection between two neighbor blocks.

In your example, the loop blocks at each end have two connections to the turnout blocks via the normal and diverging legs.

The each loop needs at least two blocks. ?You also need intermediate signals at the new block boundaries.

I constructed a simple layout editor panel with two back to back reverse loops. The "auto generate signaling pairs" only created 1 pair. I created the other 7 manually and did enough sanity checks (occupancy and turnout states) to convince myself that the signal aspects work as expected. Is there a problem for JMRI signal pair recognition in this somewhat strange configuration or am I approaching the problem incorrectly?
?
I uploaded the panel file to a problems being worked on folder, Snorkel, if someone is interested.

Re: DecoderPro Opens every time as a new install

Thanks Cliff,

I suspected that the login password not having access to the internet for Windows to confirm the account has something to do with this.
