Use of Discover to retrieve SML #sml
After making some changes to my panel using Layout Editor, including some SML, I save, close, start and open the panel. But different than the past, I find that I have to use the Discover command to

Re: OPS: Move loco Setout line on Manifest #operationspro
Dan, I changed the Railroad Name. If I had more than one railroad, I guess my operators would need to know which one they are operating on. Again, maybe not prototypical but it works for me. Ken

Re: OPS: Move loco Setout line on Manifest #operationspro
In addition to Pete's solution, I've added the option in the next test release to print locomotive set outs after car set outs.

Re: OPS: Move loco Setout line on Manifest #operationspro
Ken, To create the header line "Date, Start, End" did you change the layout name, or did you use the train Manifest railroad name option?

Re: Error when opening layout editor #layouteditor
John, When the discover hangs, you will most likely have a Java error in the system console. When things are not working as expected, I use the GrandReset.py script to reset the environment. For

Re: Error when opening layout editor #layouteditor
Dave, Thanks for finding these issues. I changed the block between NT837 and IT:NT831 to a new block called NS765X to prevent the issue with no block boundary at the straight leg and a signal facing

Re: WiThrottle server doesn't work with T-mobile 5G gateway #withrottleserver
Yes, the phones are connecting to household wifi. This layout is out in a very rural area and there are no other SSIDs visible.

Re: OPS: Move loco Setout line on Manifest #operationspro
Tim, I've looked through the MRSLAM site and downloaded the examples. Impressive work! The paperwork generated is a little too 'busy' for me. I like things simple even if they're not prototypical.

Re: OPS: Move loco Setout line on Manifest #operationspro
MR SLAM Formatter does this automatically plus gives you a plethora of other formatting options for your documents. ?It is free and only requires Java to run. https://mrslamf.com/

Re: DCC-EX command station and pca 9685
Robert L, One thing to keep in mind with on the Arduino, don't do delays, it messes up communications. Instead consider capturing the current time and then in the loop watch for the time since

Re: Editing an existing locomotive roster in JMRI #roster
It's actually a list of decoder installations , but that notwithstanding, your proposal assumes that you're just moving decoders from one loco to another. It won't work if, for example, you're

Re: Error when opening layout editor #layouteditor
Hmm I built a small test panel with the crossover blocks. I then use LogixNG to sequence the crossover block to make the tracking work. This is much simpler than putting the virtual blocks on the

Re: OPS: Move loco Setout line on Manifest #operationspro
Pete, Thank you! Without even trying it, I can see that this is going to work for me. I've used the -Location trick elsewhere but didn't think to use it for a single track Location. You da man! As

Re: DCC-EX command station and pca 9685
Hi, solved my own problem as follows: the DCC system name in the "Configure Base Station" table has to be set to 100, then 101 etc. The pins can then be set as required i.e. 100 t0 115 for the first

DCC-EX command station and pca 9685
Hi, I have currently got a pca 9685 servo controller connected to an arduino mega 2650, and am using jmri with cmri simulated nodes. All 16 connected servos runs fine. I am now trying to use my DCC-EX

Re: Editing an existing locomotive roster in JMRI #roster
I would think of roster entries as a list of decoders, for each decoder you indicate which loco it is in. So I would use your existing roster entry and change the loco info once you put it in another

Re: Editing an existing locomotive roster in JMRI #roster
It¡¯s not practical or indeed possible to do what you¡¯re asking. This is because each decoder definition is different to all other except close siblings from the same manufacturer. Even then,

Re: Error when opening layout editor #layouteditor
John, I suspect your dummy blocks between the crossover turnouts may cause problems. The main issue is that they can break block tracking. They do fix the double crossover problem. Dave Sand

John, I did one more test. I deleted all of the SML and the block paths. After a re-start, all of the SML was discovered without errors. However not always correctly. Here is the generated logic
