The same thing (Last Report is cleared) happens when is the connection is with LocoNet Transponding messages (from a RailCom reader over LocoNet), or RFID when read by either a local serial RFID

Reading the code, can/cbus/CBusReporter has a timeout that results in clearing the report. It¡¯s set when a certain type of report is received. The delay is nominally two seconds.

If it works reading stuff from the decoder with JMRI 5.2 then your Java is
fine and you¡¯re good to go
I¡¯d suggest upgrade to 5.3.6 just out which I think fixed that Tsunami
identification issue.
