Locked Re: Decoder Pro does not recognise a Uhlenbrock decoder #uhlenbrock

Possible your version of JMRi is a bit dated. I look at the definition files in JMRI 4.18 and Uhlenbrock 76200 Multi-protocol? should be found cv7 = 9 (lowVersion)? thru 40 (highVersion)? so it should
show this as a selection if CV7 = 37.

Most likely, they said or meant a 1K ohm resistor.? That's the standard recommendation.

I'd think *VERY* carefully before adding a 1 ohm resistor. It's nearly a short.

I use a Digitrax DCS50. When trying to program a Bachmann, I couldn't. So I contacted Digitrax and they said "add a 1 ohm resistor across the wires to the programming track". I did and that solved that problem. That was the only way I could get the engine from 03 to the loco number. I've heard an alternative is for a 12v light bulb/auto 1156? across those wires. So, it might be as simple as this was for me.

Sorry, CV 7 not CV 8, is 37.? And the problem is that DecoderPro does not recognise a decoder model from Uhlenbrock with that code.

CV8 = 37 is some obscure manufacturer by the name of NAC Services Inc.

Bachmann S4? are Soundtraxx Soundvalue equiped. Sound comes up when power is applied to track.

You do not state what DCC Command Station involved. Your issue might be related to CV29 not being setup.

How are you going about the address change ?

Locked calling dispatcher from script #scripting #dispatcher

I am calling dispatcher from a jython script. The train starts and rtraverses the route, however I cannot get the train to slow down and stop.

I am using a speed profile and the train slows down and stops when called using the normal dispatcher.

I am calling the routine using

DF = jmri.InstanceManager.getDefault(jmri.jmrit.dispatcher.DispatcherFrame)

DF.loadTrainFromTrainInfo('T2_1.xml','ROSTER','diesel')

Where T2-1.xml is a normal xml file produced from dispatcher.

I presume that the stop command is called from an event when the train leaves the penultimate block, and I suspect I have not set a variable in the train info file which is normally set when calling the routine from dispatcher.

If i could be given a pointeras? to what extra variable(s)/routine(s) need to be called I would be grateful. I have downloaded the source and have tried to find the information, and experimented but failed dismally.

Thanks

Bill

Locked Bachmann SV S4 Addressing

Hello,

Anyone know if Bachmann SV Locomotives are not able to be assigned 4 digit addressing? I'm trying to address one to 5050. When I do, It has sound of the main engine, but won't move or do any functions. Set it back to 3 and it works great.

Suggestions please

Thanks

Locked Re: Accessory command not sent from SPROG II #sprog

As it's a USB connection you should never cycle the SPROG power without also restarting JMRI. The timeouts indicate that is taking a while for JMRI to receive replies. I've only seen this on slower systems such as Raspberry Pis. I don't think they are the problem.

Can you control turnouts if you set the SPROG to programmer mode?

Are you using the correct system name for the turnouts?

Write down what the warning message is and what choices you are presented with. Otherwise it's very hard to help.

If you can get JMRI far enough to access the system console, follow Marc's instructions so we can also see the system console log.

A matter if seconds.

But what I recall of 4.14 is it had a tendency of improper termination of JMRI in some? cases and LaucnhJMRI and JAVA would still be running but no JMRI related windows.?
We would see this via Task Manager when we tried to run JMRI on occasion.

When ever you RUN JMRI it uses "LaunchJMRI"? .? The update uses the same " LaunchJMRI " and falls because the app is all ready running.

Update: ?the JMRI update has been accomplished.?

Prior to initiating the prior update, I had quit the previous JMRI version. ?When all the associated Panel Pro Windows had disappeared from the desktop is when I initiated the 4.18 update process. ?It may appear that the older version was still running.

There is no such device as a DCS150... In a previous post of yours you made the same mistake.

What you need to do is post the System Console log. Go into HELP, System Console. Copy to clipboard? and past (CTRL+V)? to this thread so people can view the log.

Quite possibly the answer is in the log.

The log will also indicate what other items you are loading.

Did you stop JMRI 4.14 ?? Did you try to run the update 4.18 while 4.14 was running ?? This will stop LaunchJMRI in it's tracks and fail the update.

Your antivirus software is being overzealous and preventing you from installing the new "LaunchJMRI.exe" file.

This is a common problem with some antivirus software when we make a new release. It blocks anything new by default and takes a while to learn that the new "LaunchJMRI.exe" file is not a threat.

With some antivirus software you can tell it to install anyway, or you can temporarily disable protection while you install.

If you let us know what antivirus software you use, someone may be able to explain how to accept "LaunchJMRI.exe" as valid.

The following folders appear in C:\Program Files (x86)\JMRI\ ...help, lib, web, and xml. Also, the following items appear: COPYING, JMRI.conf, JMRI.jar, and LaunchJMRI.exe. The first three items are dated 12/22/2019 while the last item (LaunchJMRI.exe) is dated 12/19/2018.
