There's a directory under operations called "backups" not "backup".? Is that the directory you are searching?? Note that the "backups" directory is only updated when you press the "Backup" button in the Settings window.??
?
When you start OperationsPro it automatically loads the last set of files saved by you.? You don't need to do a "Restore" or a load.
?
Under the "operations" directory, you should find the six operation files with an "Date Modified" the last time you did a save.

Hi Dan,
?
I have to go back to the email I sent on Aug 30th.
?
I completed your instructions setting up a new config and data file, but contrary to my previous response, the program is not performing properly.? Here's what is happening.? I will 'set' a car or a locomotive, and the new 'set' appears to be accepted, and they appear on the 'preview' as expected.? However when I 'save' and exit the program, then restart, the new settings have reverted to the previous settings, yet the 'new' setting still appear on the 'preview' until I make another change in settings.
?
When I go into my data file, none of? car, engine, location, or route rosters files have been modified since 24-07-30 which is when my problem appeared.? The program auto backups are up to date, but the roster files in the backup still haven't been modified since 24-07-30.? It appears the program is not saving changes made.? Any ideas???

Locked Announcing the release of version 2.07.21 of MR SLAM Formatter #MRSLAMFormatter #operationspro

Version 2.07.21 is ready for prime time.
?

New Features in version 2.07

  • This version of MR SLAM Formatter introduces a significant new capability to the program; the ability to insert car images into manifest and switch lists. This capability is fully described in manual section XII.C.? If you don't wish to include images in your documents, you can continue to use the program in text mode.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the missing car report was shown on the first manifest or switch list created during a program session, but it was not shown on subsequent documents. This bug crept into version 2.04 but has now been exterminated.

  • Resolved an issue where in 2 column/page mode, the dashed line that separates the 2 columns, was not the correct height when switching between landscape and portrait format.

?
The program is free to download and use.? It runs on Window's, Macintosh, and it should run under Linux (as yet untested).? The program doesn't require Excel or other costly programs, just Java and Adobe Acrobat (both are free).? The program comes with a very detailed manual and several instructional videos are available.? Visit the program's website at ? ? to learn more, see examples of documents, and to download the program.

Thank you Dave. I will put on my stupid cap and sit in the corner now. I loaded Daniel's password patch to test it on my Laptop and forgot about doing that, when near the same time, the layout computer had suffered a communications issue shutting down the railroad, that distracted me. When I got back to the development Laptop, I forgot, "I Didn¡¯t Setup Permissions."?

If you forget why you¡¯ve walked into a room ¡ ?wait ¡ ?what was I talking about?

My railroad's Pi/JMRI computer uses Java 17 included with MSteveTodd¡¯s compilation. That works with no problems. This is noted as a reference only.

The issue I¡¯m having is a Permission Denied issue when saving the PanelPro .xml file(s), I use a MacBook for developing JMRI files, which was using Java 11 JDK. With 5.9.x uses Java 17 and future releases will require 17, I upgraded to Java 17 JRE. and removed the zulu-11.jdk directory as per the JMRI method. It upgraded without any problems and worked as expected, maybe even faster? Re-boot done between each change.?

After adding AZUL 17 JRE and removing the 11 directory when quitting JMRI and saving changes a dialog box pops up with Panel Pro ¡°Permission Denied¡±. Clicking OK allows the program to close, as expected. Upon re-starting JMRI the changes saved are there, as expected. No matter if I replace Java 11 as long as Java 17 exists the the error exists.

Question: Did I do something wrong during the upgrade process? ?Or is this a bug with the Mac JMRI version? ?Or is it a Zulu Java 17 issue? ? ?

Subject: [jmriusers] Mac Java 17 upgrade caused permission issue
Date: Tuesday, September 03, 2024 8:57 PM

Locked WiThrottle "D" command

I've researched many posts about using the "D" command to send a hex packet to the command station. From posts I have read through, it appears that the HEX packet should be a basic or extended NMRA DCC packet. It is my understanding that the data from the command station to the rails is formatted as per the MFGR like digitrax e.g., or DCC EX etc.
?
Is this a basically correct understanding, and is there any way to monitor the "D" command hex packet in the system console?
?
Thanks

Locked Re: JMRI 5.8 hangs when opening panels-tables automatically on startup. #startup

I think the Mac downloads from builds.jmri.org <> should now be OK starting with #2004. Sorry for the trouble. The problem was that our Jython library was so old it was no longer passing some security checks in the signing process. The fix was to update the Jython library from 2.7.2 to 2.7.4. That shouldn¡¯t have any effect on the user experience.

It would be great if somebody who¡¯s seeing the original "JMRI 5.8 hangs when opening panels-tables automatically on startup¡± could test one of these and let me know if it¡¯s fixed:

An audio question this time concerning PanelPro. Starting to enter the sounds of the relays when you press the Code Button. I noticed on one YouTube video that was demonstrating PanelPro CTC Panel, that when a signal or turnout lever was turned, it made the signal lever sound, when it was turned. I've only been able to get the turnout or signal lever sound in the Action section to play when the Code Button relay is sounding. Is there something special I need to program to get the turnout or signal lever to sound before pressing the Code Button?
What is a "turnout" sound? Do you mean to "squeek" caused by rotating a US&S "Switch" lever? Or do you mean the sequence of relay sounds sent when requesting a Switch position change?

Typically, for a US&S "Time-coded" CTC, the Office machine's "coding" relays "click" when "coding" a request. OR when "something changes" at a field location.

Locked Re: SSL or SML #dispatcher

Steve,
Thank you for your explanation, that is very helpful.
I plan to use a bit of LogixNG for some of the actions like when I want to back two trains into a yard and start and terminate Dispatches triggered by IR-sensors. This is working nicely.
?
I have not managed to get two trains running reliably on different but continuous Transits so I will definitely experiment with the NoSignal option for Dispatcher.
?
The most challenging part of this is what happens around the one crossing I have on my layout. If two trains are too close on the layout one train will switch the crossing for it's Transit and shortly after the second train will switch the crossing back to satisfy it's Transit. Here I'm also working with LogixNG to get one train to stop for the other before changing the crossing.

Please don't try to "delete" anything via the Control Panel - Uninstall it if you want to remove it. Although AFAIK JMRI itself doesn't create any registry entries, I'm pretty sure the Windows install process does. Simply "deleting" JMRI folders will leave those registry entries behind.

Having said that, if you really want to get rid of everything JMRI (Java is totally separate) including user files and registry entries, use an uninstaller such as the .
