Larry,

You are not limited to LocoNet, I just assumed because of you using Digitrax. Marc has suggested some LocoNet options.

At my club, we are using RR-Circuits Tower Controllers for LocoNet. I have IR detector sets wired directly into the TC. But this is an expensive option just for what you are looking to do.

If you really want to see all the older menu items, you start DecoderPro and then use the File->Open PanelPro Window menu item and all your old familiar menu items are there.

I'm away from a computer at present and can't remember the best way to make the change happen every time you start DecoderPro. Someone else may remember...

Nick,

Did you do a reindex of the roster? I'm away from JMRI right now but I believe it's under the 'File' menu option. That should clear it up.

I am using Digitrax DCS 100 system, Locobuffer USB?

What have I screwed up now ? The version I exported the roster from was Version 4.17.4 . I didn't see any bug reports on this but any help would be appreciated.

Locked JMRI Operations Question #operationspro

Greetings from NYC!

I'm fairly new to JMRI Operations (but not to Operations or Operations software) and I've hit a snag.
I'm setting up JMRI Operations for my club's first operating session in some time (Queens County Model Railroad Association). I've set up a car roster, locations and spurs, routes and trains. I've checked that the trains can handle the car types for those particular locations. When I create a turn (train from the yard to a location and back) the train? will only add cars to the train for empty spots at the location. For example, if a location has four spots and three of them are filled, the yard will only put one car on the train for that location, despite the fact that the train will pick up the cars in the other three spots before heading back to the yard. How can I change this?

Thank you in advance for any help I can get,

Steven Zaretsky

True, I forgot about the thread monitor.

You could use the Digitrax BDL168? and two of it's 16 detection zones.? The detection is via current draw on the track section. Detection generates a Loconet message.
Or use the Digitrax BD4.? But this requires more hardware to get the Loconet Message back to the Command Station or computer.? Or the BD4 is wired into some
I/O device to see the voltage state change.

Locked Re: Decoder Pro Not Seeing my Locomotive

Hi Dave, Tony, and Alain,

After I was finally able to program the old decoder to address 2 (the cab number of the loco) using the NCE PowerCab (which also was able to read back the new address, as well as decoder manufacturer and version number), and then verified that it was operational using it¡¯s new address on the LHS demo layout with their MRC Prodigy System, I think I will ¡°leave it be¡± for now, since it does seem to be working. As they say, ¡°If it ain¡¯t broke, don¡¯t try to fix it¡±. However, I was curious (and still am) as to why the SPROG3 and DecoderPro were unable to see or program it.

I still have the other old Arnold/Rivarossi type decoder as well as the old NCE/TTX decoder to play with (once I can locate my missing Atlas test chassis), all of which were unable to be seen or programmed using the SPROG3 DecoderPro. For several years, my SPROG3/DecoderPro combination, though admittedly somewhat out of date, has worked perfectly, misleading me to thinking that I may have actually figured out this DCC programming thing - Oh well, back to the usual state of confusion.

I¡¯m not a LayoutEditor user, unfortunately. Is there a sample file somewhere that I can use as an example? Ideally one with just a few of each kind of thing.

The XSLT appears to work OK for most things. The blocks section is not picking up the block user name or the assigned sensor. The layout editor track segment does not include block assignments. Make sure the PR3 has the latest updates from Digitrax. Use the Digitrax
program Digi-Loader to perform the update. If it isn't, there are many

Ken I did use the same port. I also tested the serial ports just now with other devices; the ports work fine. ?So I think the issue is my computer doesn't like the PR3.

That I'm having a connection issue with PR3/Soundloader presents an opportunity to get Digitrax help desk to assist.

Ken,

Thank you. When the panel starts normally all turnout signal heads and occ sensors are red and, as you say, will stay red until the turnout is changed or an occ sensor goes active.

What happened on this panel was some of the signal heads were removed from the panel when opened and some heads went black, as though the head had just been placed on the panel with no SSL attached.

I just tested the recreated panel and all worked correctly. Next, I will see what a few power cycles do.

Appreciate it.

John

John,

Keep in mind this about startup of signals.
1. It requires some input to change to trigger it thinking about what to
display.
2. If an input is not in a valid state, it stays at stop. So if any turnouts
are not CLOSED/THROWN or sensors not ACTIVE/INACTIVE, you won't get the
signal working.
