Re: Jython script Error - obj has no attribute 'setIsForward'
...just realized that after this error, now I cannot control Turnouts from the CPE. this happened last night for the first time ever. I rebooted TWICE and got things working again and now it has happened again. Nothing else in the system console other than the setisforward error. |

Re: Have a question about having a train pick up a specific car
#operationspro
Another idea is to add a new "Car Type".? That's done via the Cars window, by selecting the "Add Car" button, getting that window, then clicking the Car Type "Edit" button.
?
?
Type in your new car type, then click Add:
?
?
This does NOT create a 'custom load', and allows you to use the default "L" or "E".??Set the necessary spur(s) to accept that Car Type.??
?
This has worked for me quite well with cars in/out for a steel mill, automobile plant, and grain elevators.
?
Best,

Re: DecoderPro no loco roster
#roster
I am having a similar problem.? I've run decoder pro for many years and have a roster of over 100 engines.? Yesterday, I was using it and everything was working fine.? I then shut it down and about a 1/2 hour later restarted it and low an behold no roster.? If I look on my server I can see the directory and all of my engine files but I've tried rebuild roster and it didn't work.? Can someone walk me thru the steps to recover my roster?
Thanks, John Moonan |
Re: DecoderPro no loco roster

You must have changed something for this to happen.? Can you recall any changes at all you made to JMRI or your computer setup between when everything worked and you noticed your issues?

Re: Startup Gets Stuck

Dick, I read it differently. I quote: "It became necessary to RE-install". That implies an existing installation, with (who knows?) any of panel files, scripts, roster, profiles, connected hardware. Which is why I stand by what I wrote. If there was nothing on the old machine/installation that needs salvaging, you are, of course, totally correct. Test release 5.11.5 of JMRI/DecoderPro is available for download
#announcement
Test release 5.11.5 of JMRI/DecoderPro is available for download.
This is the next in a series of test releases that will culminate in a production release, hopefully in June 2025. It's really helpful when people download, install and use these test releases so we can find and fix any inadvertent new problems early. If you are currently using JMRI 4.99.10 or earlier, there is an update process that we strongly recommend. See the release note section on updates: <> For more information on the issues, new features and bug fixes in 5.11.5 please see the release note: <> Note that JMRI is made available under the GNU General Public License. For more information, please see our copyright and licensing page. <> The download links, along with lots of other information which we hope you'll read, can be found on the release note page: <> Bob — Bob Jacobsen rgj1927@... |

开云体育Wouter, He is not trying to get something that was working working again. He has upgraded to a completely new machine and installed from scratch. What I am suggesting is that he shouldn't try to duplicate his old setup on a new machine, but rather to use current software versions on a new setup. There is no reason that I am aware of that JMRI 4.26 shouldn't be able to run on Java 17. Dick :) On 4/11/2025 9:50 AM, whmvd via

Re: Signal Mast Logic Translation Latency

So, what type of turnout are you using? -
?
All signal masts are controlled by CT turnouts (CMRI Network). All signals correspond to their CT values as intended and function as intended when the system is not acting up.?

Re: Startup Gets Stuck

I could not disagree more. Much better to get working what was once working (albeit on other hardware), than to try to upgrade from something that does not work, in the (guaranteed vain) hope of a magic fix happening along the way. It's just not good fault-finding procedure. Only add an upgrade into the mix once 4.26 works again. Java 8 plus jmri 4.26 is a perfectly feasible combo, and there's no reason for a knee-jerk upgrade just because newer stuff exists. Wouter? Re: Startup Gets Stuck

开云体育Richard, You have a modern computer, but are running very old software. Uninstall Java 8. It is a decade old now and no longer supported.
Go to
to download Java 17 JRE. Once that is done, then follow the JMRI
release notes to upgrade JMRI to a current version. Once that is
done, then see if you still have the issue. If so ask your
question again. Dick :) On 4/10/2025 8:56 PM, rprdds24 via

We do not use any flashing aspects.
?
"you would be using turnout driven signal heads which are then on a signal mast using signal heads, correct?" -?
?
I setup the signals as "signal masts" with no "signal heads" using the output mast matrix setup.
"Does it seem to mater if only one train it out there vs a number of trains?" -? ?
It seems to starts to fall behind when there is around 4-5+ trains (Not uncommon for us) it starts as lag then just becomes frozen with occasional alternating colors. We use resistance based block detection with a 15 second debounce and I am getting all of that data as usual with no noticeable lag in on my panel even while the signals go crazy.? |
Re: Signal Mast Logic Translation Latency
#sml
1). I am seeing this with all signal masts on the layout.
2). It seems to be present on startup and then come and go after I let it settle for several minutes after startup. It seems like it chokes under higher load with several trains running knocking down signals. 3). Everything as for the JMRI interface, WIThrottles, (I use a TCS-UWT50) all run as usual with no issues. 4). Agree, only interaction is an indirect correlation with the signal mast logic.? 5). Same result after startup, everything is stalled. ~10 Minutes to clear up and start reflecting changes in the turnout tables. 6). Re: Signal Mast Logic Translation Latency

开云体育Hunter, ? Are you using flashing aspects? ? Now with the masts being on CMRI, that means you would be using turnout driven signal heads which are then on a signal mast using signal heads, correct? ? Since the physical turnouts and the lamps are also turnouts, they go to the node all at one time. You don’t see any latency with the physical turnouts but the signals seem the problem. Does it seem to mater if only one train it out there vs a number of trains? ? -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team
