Re: Best or correct way to add signal masts
Steve, Short answer: No. Long answer: Maybe, if you are willing to create a lot of Logix and/or scripting to fake out both systems so that they respond properly to the mixed head/mast environment.

Rummy, If the turnout has its own block as recommended, it will have 3 block boundaries. Do a right click on the turnout and it will have the Set Signal Masts context menu item. Dave Sand

Re: Best or correct way to add signal masts
Rummy, Step 1: pick a signal system. This means a family of signal masts and a rule set of how the relate to each other. This sets up how they relate the aspect of one to the next signal's aspect.

Hi, Can I use signal heads at turnouts to indicate closed/diverging paths, and use masts with SML, as long as I only key the heads to turnout positions, and use the masts for controlling block

Tony, I've always used the virtual mast for cases where I don't have hardware. I even use it while waiting for hardware. Then I can move to the real hardware later and define it right for the hardware

Rummy, You don't have to put in all the fields for masts/heads. If you only need eastbound, then just input that mast. You must look careful at the popup to make sure you pick the 'Set Masts...'

Re: Best or correct way to add signal masts
So, I'm still struggling with signal masts. When I go to "Set Signal Heads" on a turnout, I have to put in names for 4 signal heads, 2 in each direction, even though traffic is in one direction only.
