I've downloaded 90889-LSNSelect-Diesel-Scale-Trains-T4-GEVO-V1-R1.esux from ESU's web and opened in in LokProgrammer software.?? The number boards are not listed as a function output, so this leads me to believe that the LED for the number boards are connected directly to the track pickups and not to a decoder function output, also evidence that they are flashing when attempting to read.? Unfortunately, the always on load of having lights connected directly to track pickups interferes with reading CVs on program track.? A program track booster might help but might still not have enough power to handle those lights.?

Could take shell off loco and see if any easy way to disconnect the number board LEDs.?
If not, you'll be able to write programming OK, so you can manually select:
Electronic Solutions Ulm GmbH
ESU LokSound Select
LokSound Select direct / micro

I've exported the default CV values from LokProg SW that can be imported into JMRI, once you've open the above, select
File
Import
Lokprogrammer CV file list
then select the file, I'll send off list since no attachments here.

Then make whatever changes desired and write to decoder, will likely get an error message but the decoder should still have got the changes.? Thou once you've got the address setup, making the rest of the changes via Ops Mode will avoid the error message.

Also that verbal ack has no relevance to this decoder.

It¡¯s on the QSI Misc pane on the decoder definition, but you¡¯re not seeing that yet. WiThrottle Server has always listened on all addresses on the machine. Previously, it only displayed one of them on the window, now it displays all of them. It is only a display change, the underlying broadcast and listeners are the same.

Digging deeper into this I looked at the JMRI context and found this:

Network Interface: eth4
?Long Name: VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter
?Host Name: rwm-PC
?IP address: 192.168.56.1

It looks like JMRI is attempting to bind to the virtual NIC associated with VirtualBox?? ( I run VMs when testing and evaluating malware as part of my work for my employer).

It never did this before.

I upgraded from 4.4 to 4.12.? The system is Windows 7 Professional with Java 1.8_171 installed.?? On the WiThrottle panel is now says it is listening on two separate IP/Port combos when in 4.4 it was only one.????? The additional item in 4.12 is?? 192.168.56.1:5555, that never displayed in 4.4.?? The correct entry is 192.168.11.165:5555 which was the one that displayed in 4.4.

Where did the 192.168.56.1:5555 come from??? Does it matter??? I looked through all the preference settings and don't see a location to remove it.

I just stumbled over the info regarding the Bachrus speedometer and especially
the possibility to calibrate locos in a convinient way when using Decoder Pro
and Sprog IIv4. But it seems to be almost impossible to get my hands on a
Bachrus speedometer. It appears that Bachrus has closed down. I use a Marion
Zeller H0 roller stand (MaZeRo) and they provide a speed measuring device
named "Max H0". Does anyone know if it is possible to connect the "Max H0" to
Decoder Pro to get the same automatic calibration features as the Bachrus
speedometer in Decoder Pro?

Hi Jerry,
There are other data types that support different types of data. For example, memory can handle a string value. I don't know if CMRI can handle memories, but the various json interfaces.? See here?
You could use the socket or the http interface to set the value of a memory variable.

It is in any QSI decoder locomotive window.? But since you're not detecting the decoder type you're not getting to the one of these windows unless you are manually selecting a decoder type, you will only see the QSI Misc tab if you selected one of the QSI decoders. It is a decoder setting not a JMRI setting.

The verbal feedback setting only applies to QSI decoder equipped locos, the decoder used in early Broadway Limited locos (along with many other makes).? Does not apply to later Broadway Limited locos since they now use decoders of their own design (first Blueline, then Paragon2 and now Paragon3).? This setting also does not apply to any LokSound decoder.

"Verbal feedback" is for QSI decoders only and is on the QSI Misc tab and is called "Programming Verbal Acknowledgement". It's bit 0 of CV 62. But it only applies to Ops Mode programming (POM), QSI decoders never have verbal feedback when on Service Mode programming on program track.

I also have gone back to 4.12 version. I have also tried without the
PowerPax and I still get the same error, " no response from loco". So
it "JMRI" does not tell me what type of decoder it is. So when it
tells me this I can not go into the programing mode in JMRI to program
the address to the engines.

Locked Using Arduino to measure train speed - how do I send speed to JMRI for panel display?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

What I would like to do is send a number representing train speed from my homebrew Arduino/IR sensor speedometer back to PanelPro to display on my panel by the block where speed is measured. I can put several of these on the layout and see the speed of all my detected trains as they move around the layout.?

The Arduino is configured to appear as a C/MRI SMINI node to JMRI to send a sensor a ¡±block occupied¡± bit right now.? I¡¯m not adverse to changing the interface method to JMRI if I have to, although the current approach is really simple and doesn¡¯t require any hardware other than the Arduino.

Any thoughts on how I might:

  1. Send speed as a number back to PanelPro over C/MRI or some other way.
  2. Display that number on my panel.
My general question is whether there is a way for sensors to send more than 0 or 1 to JMRI to display on panels, for example engine numbers from RFID detectors.

Thanks, Jerry

It needs the drive sound activated for this sound slot to play. Or, in

Locked Re: Turnout automation

@Bob
> It might be helpful to understand a bit why you¡¯d want to do this, as Internal turnouts are, well, internal.
I have created my control system based on Ethernet TCP/IP + Arduino (JMRI IoT script modified) which connects to JMRI using sockets. The sensors, lights and turnouts are defined as internal and the script running in the background takes care of the communication with external I/O modules. It works very well over long distances, which is the case on my G scale layout. It is also very easy to extend. Each new node has it's own IP address and can handle many input/output/turnout boards. All the nodes are connected to the Ethernet switch and computer running JMRI. I have now 6 IP nodes with total 300 outputs, 32 block detectors and 16 inputs. It works great, without any issues.

I will play with logix and scripting. Thx

Locked Re: L1USB Ethernet Adapter Error ? Help

Alan,

I don¡¯t see any issues with the Logix. I am assuming that IH01 and s1r/gn are the same head, that the head is defined as a turnout based signal head and the supporting turnouts are not pt01.

If you can re-create the communication error by changing the head appearance in the signal head table without a Logix defined, that would eliminate Logix as a possible source of the problems.
