Thanks, Charles.
I know the Arrow antennas.? I've seen them at hamfests for years, but Elk antennas don't ring a bell.?
I'll go look.

Re: Connect CT-17 to IC7000 (error)
You can also look at my CT17B products, at WWW.VE2DX.COM?they are not outdated from the 1970`s like the ICOM CT17 :P --

Re: Connect CT-17 to IC7000 (error)
Do you have the CT-17 connected to the Computer through the DB25 on the back? You also have to power the CT-17 with 12 volts. Typically you¡¯ll use a DB25 to DB9 serial adapter to connect to a DB9 serial port on your computer. You could also ise a USB to serial adapter to a db9 to db25 to feed the CT-17. The DB port takes RS232 data and converts it to TTL, which is what is flowing on the CI-V bus. The bundled cables shown in the CT-17 picture are used to connect between the CT-17 and the ¡°Remote¡± jack on the back of the radio. ? Unless you absolutely must have more CI-V connections, it¡¯s much easier to use the CI-V to USB cable shown. If you don¡¯t use the DB25 on the CI-V then you can take the USB to CI-V cable and plug it into the CT-17 and use the other ports, you don¡¯t need power to the CT-17 to do that. Look at the schematic and you¡¯ll see those 4 1/8¡± ports are just paralleled, no electronics to speak of between them. ? Greg NZ6E ? ? ? ? ?

I want to control the icom-7000 from a computer using the HamRadioDeluxe software through the CT-17. I don't have a USB CI-V Cat Interface Cable to connect it directly to a computer.

When I use CT-17 it gives the following error.

I am using the following ci-v cable between Icom7000 and CT-17.

I configured baud rate, com port and radio address.
What cable should I use to connect CT-17 to Icom7000? Or is there some other error? If anyone has faced this problem, please help me

FWIW --
Elk antennas and Arrow antennas are both used heavily by 2m/70cm satellite stations.
The Arrows are cross-polarized Yagis.? The Elks aren't Yagis, but they have several dB of gain over a dipole.

Re: Kit to use Sharper Image 7" TV as External Monitor for IC-7000
I have a small TV that I used when I had my IC-7000. It currently needs a battery. If you are interested you can have it for the price of whatever USPS Priority box cost it takes.? If interested I can see of I can send you a picture and model number.

Re: Kit to use Sharper Image 7" TV as External Monitor for IC-7000
I think the TV might be made by Haier. I searched for the model number and found the battery on Amazon a couple of years ago. I don¡¯t remember the model of the battery.
Having said that, I have two of these 7¡± TVs. I use one without a battery with my deployment case. I power it from a lead I made with powerpoles on one end and use the station power source.
It does attract attention.

Kit to use Sharper Image 7" TV as External Monitor for IC-7000
Does anybody remember the name/call of the fellow
who put these kits together years ago?? I had the info
several years ago when I bought one of those kits, but
can't remember where I stashed it.
I think I have located and ordered all of the needed pieces
on eBay to?build?a clone of that kit and that would work
for ANY monitor or TV that has a composite video input.
The 7" size seems to work well for my Field Day Go-Box,
but any monitor up to the width of the 7000 would fit
nicely on top of the rig and have great visibility and?similar
resolution.
Does anybody remember what battery to use for the
internal battery of that TV (Model TSI-LCD7PTSD).

Been on HF since 1976 and still am.? Gathering my last couple of cards for 8BDXCC.?
The only band I haven't operated on from 1.8 to 1300 MHz has been the 60m allocation.

Any recommendations??

The IC-7000 has been sold.

The IC-207 programs through the remote head connection which is an odd proprietary connection.? That was one reason I moved that radio along years ago.? The cable was expensive, the software was DOS-based and the radio didn't support alpha tags.? I liked the small head and all the other issues were resolved in the IC-208, ID-880 and now ID-4100.

FWIW (I don't own an AT-100) --
The AT-100 ProII is designed for _fully automatic_ operation.? If you can figure out how to get 12 volts DC (either from the IC-7000 "Tune" socket, or from its 12-volt power supply), and feed it to the AT-100's "DC In" connections, you should be good to go.??
If you need a 12-volt power cable, LDG recommends using "" -- this item:
