Re: K 700 S, Did Felder cheap out on the rip fence?

Yes,

Just bought one prior to the saw showing up.

Thx,

Are the two nuts, circled in red, only to adjust the rip fence 90 degrees to the table surface? And the ONLY way you want to dial in your toe out is through the adjustments of the large 50mm support bar as you described David?

Correct.

Do you have a dial indicator with magnetic base? Similar to this?

And maybe this is an obvious question, but should I start off by making the distance the same between the two nuts? ?See picture attached. Between the red lines. ?They are off from one another by over a 1/16¡±. ?I never touched these, they came installed and tightened down already. ?

Okay, I¡¯m starting to take my rip fence support rail off and starting over with the installation. ?Many have pointed out that I had the large washers on the cast table connection on the front when they clearly need to be in the back, but took the nuts off on the back side of the cast table and I have these other two large washers as well. ?Do I double up the washers on the back side nut? ?Pictures attached.?

In your video I hear the same thud 5x you definitely should be able to get rid of that.

Re: Everyday Glue Recommendation

By far, my favorite is the Lee Valley Cabinet Maker's Glue GF 2002.? Great open time and higher viscosity than TBIII.? It comes and goes on the US site.

https://www.leevalley.com/en-us/shop/tools/supplies/adhesives/glue/45104-lee-valley-cabinetmakers-glue-2002-gf#:~:text=Our%202002%20GF%20glue%20is,starving%20and%20virtually%20eliminates%20staining.

Garrett Wade also has it, but the cost is high.

I use Unibond 800 urea for veneer.? Also use the heat blankets.? It works great in my shop which tends to run about 65 degrees resulting in long open time and then the blankets kick the glue properly.? Unibond 800 needs 70 degrees+ to set.

I sometimes use TBII when the glue-up is simple and I want a little quicker set.? I did tha with 30 domino drawer boxes recently.? Titebond lists the clamp time as the same for ii or iii but II seems to set quicker or me so I can re-use my clamps sooner.

Wade,

Sorry, thought you were trying to pivot the long xcut fence. It is a good idea to start a new thread with a different question so thick heads like me who can¡¯t read will give you a better answer ?

No sweat though, we all have been guilty of piggy backing a question somewhat related to the current conversation. However, search works better when the subject heading is directly related to the question.

That knob you indicated, is the pivot point lock. ?Tech said to leave that alone to set up for miters. ?The pic here shows the two handles I am suppose to move/loosen, which I do. ?Then I can pivot the fence down a bit over the outrigger, with no problem, but then when I pull on that small underside knob it doesn¡¯t allow the fence to slide either way. ?I¡¯m suppose to be able to get the fence to slide closer to the blade during a miter set up. ?Just kind of scratching my head right now. ?

Oops! that is s different design than mine. I would try loosening the knob that secures the long fence to the outrigger until someone with your design chimes in. See red arrow in your pic below.

Wade,

You need to loosen the kip lever at the end of the extrusion that has the angle gradations.

Imran,

So did you use your large cross cut fence to make these miters for the frame? ?I¡¯m still not sure why my large cross cut fence will not slide down away from the blade when I pivot for a miter set up. ?I pulled down on the small black knob under the fence, which is what the tech guy said to do, but it won¡¯t move. ?Not sure if there another step I¡¯m not doing.

?Does using the 45 deg marking for the long xcut fence work for you to make perfect 45s, let¡¯s say for a simple frame?

I used my precision 45 deg square for making this frame but it is only 6¡± on the long side. Frame?is fine but not to my standard. Maybe, I should not have sold the frame square saw.

I found 2 options, if a setup square is recommended but there is no accuracy provided.

I know someone is going to suggest miter saw but not everything fits my miter saw.
