Re: Flip stops for F&F jig
I hate to say some of you might be overthinking the F&F jig?. Mine is basic, made with Baltic Birch ply and some rockler track I had laying around. Simple stops made from aluminum angle. I like David like sighting down an edge rather than a cursor. Has a replaceable hardwood edge for blade registration. A couple hours to make tops. Just make it and get to work.

Re: k700s advice needed
开云体育Mark, would your machine accept those ?” diameter feet without drilling out the mounting holes? ? Every Felder I’ve seen has 11mm holes. ?David Best - Sent from my iPad On Feb 9, 2022, at 4:37 AM, Mark Kessler <mkessler10@...> wrote:

Re: k700s advice needed
BTW, the ones you list here with the 1/2 stud wouldn't have fit in my saw, but next time I'd just drill the foot out and use these. Best time to have done that would have been when the saw was up in the air with the crane from moving it in... live and learn! On Wed, Feb 9, 2022 at 4:37 AM Mark Kessler <mkessler10@...> wrote:

Mark, might you show a picture of your zero clearance end piece?
I am probably overthinking the F & F jig, but my general philosophy is that anything worth doing is worth overdoing ?, and the jig is just as rewarding a project as anything else I make. I may try to track down a piece of 80/20 to play with it a bit. The big issue is finding a place for the scale. -- John Hinman Boise ID Not a Felder Owner yet - expecting K700S in February and A941 in April 2022 |

Re: Comatic DC-40 questions
I know the smart stand is hot, but I've got 2 of the DC-40s with the original "stupid" stands, and couldn't be happier.?
As for accessories, I took advantage of the half price sale on 8 polyurethane replacement wheels that Shopgear was offering recently with purchase of a DC-40. They definitely have a better grip than originals. These two are setup on shapers, and so far, not finding a need for the split wheels.? jeff |

开云体育Chris, My guess is that you need to replace the caps. The problem will show first on the heaviest load to start and that is the planner head. Yes, caps are common to all motors. Imran On Feb 9, 2022, at 8:10 AM, Chris Twigger via groups.io <christwigger@...> wrote:

Re: Automatic blast gate issue
#k700s
GrnGate has apparently ceased operations, although their website is still online for support reasons.? Looking at their manual I see the following:
NOTE: Some power tools including the SawStop table saw and certain European tools have an electronics control system. In these cases the sensor must be attached AFTER the control box, ideally directly on the cable going to the motor. Otherwise it is possible to incur erratic sensing and collector operation due to a constant current being drawn by the control system. So perhaps you need to change where that sensor is placed on your machine. |
Re: k700s advice needed
开云体育If you keep having issue these are the ones I originally recommended, much larger foot print, the pad won’t come off and I noticed a reduction in vibration/resonance? Regards, Mark On Feb 9, 2022, at 1:32 AM, Bob Wise <bob@...> wrote:

Hi Wade,
?
I am not familiar with GrnGate but I would be very surprised if they don’t have the adjustment for current. Read their guide and most likely you have an adjustment so the gates only operate when you have the large current - I have a slow internet connection and I saw the pics after replying. I cannot see the other side of the pickup. So not sure if it has an adjustment screw. It is possible that such adjustment is done at the control board as opposed to at pickup coil.
?
The other possible option that might work would be to move the pickup coil to the phase (assuming 3 phase) that only goes to the main motors. This is usually the case with Felder that they use two phases for internal voltages and the 3rd for motor only. I see your pictures and this option would require you to either move the pickup coil to inside the machine (requires Felder permission) or would require the cable to go thru an appropriate enclosure where you can only place only 1 wire in the coil. Definitely, this approach needs to be confirmed with the manufacturer or a user here due to logistics involved.
?

Just a quick update here. I got the feet as recommended. They are a good choice, with one issue... I had problems with the pads slipping off. I ripped them off and did a bit of lathe work with the ever useful hockey?pucks. On Tue, Jan 18, 2022 at 4:04 PM PK <pk@...> wrote: Bob, |

Re: Flip stops for F&F jig
The few Veritas items I have are really well made, and those stops look solid.
The 80/20 Series 10 extrusions have a center hole that can be tapped for a 1/4” bolt, if I understand correctly. That would allow a replaceable zero-clearance end piece. That is not as important as having a stop that fits correctly, though. I am giving serious consideration to the Veritas (Lee Valley) stops with their tape track and tapes. -- John Hinman Boise ID Not a Felder Owner yet - expecting K700S in February and A941 in April 2022 |
