Chris,

My guess is that you need to replace the caps. The problem will show first on the heaviest load to start and that is the planner head. Yes, caps are common to all motors.

?Can anyone assist?

I have a 2004 Felder CF731 Combination machine, UK single phase (240v 50 hz) and recently i have had problems getting the planer up to speed before the machine trips out. Once it gets up to speed on the first occasion it normally OK after that.? All other operations work ok i.e. Spindle Moulder and saw blade.
There does not appear to be any capacitors on this motor however upon opening up the wiring box there are two capacitors within the box?
Q1, Are these two capacitors used for each motor when each is selected on the control switch.
Q2 , what other issues/problems could cause this slow starting?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated?

Chris (from the UK)?
