¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSteve, Thanks again. Interesting, I see the slots and tracks around the bolts. Do does the assembly rotate to go up and down? Imran On Feb 6, 2022, at 2:52 PM, Steve Wurster <steven.m.wurster@...> wrote:

Re: Loose riving knife bar on K3 Winner
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Steve, Thanks for sharing these details. Since I don¡¯t have K3 and yes video is not that great but I could almost make out that it was the horizontal bar to which riving knife is mounted. Here is the one on KF700 This bar moves up/down with blade and has no mechanical interface with the blade up/down movement. Trying to figure out how K3 is different. If possible please share a pic. I notice it when the riving knife catches on the ZCI when raising the blade back up from below the table (since I leave my ZCI inserted 99.9% of the time, I lower the blade below the table to change it). The fix is to tighten one of the Allen-head bolts that holds that bar, but you can't tighten it completely or else raising and lowering the blade becomes difficult.? I haven't bothered to try to put thread lock on that thing to see if that will prevent the issue from coming back.? The last time this happened I also removed that "guard" that (partly?) blocks access to that bolt.? That guard serves no purpose that I can see. |

Re: Timer for Cleaning Dust Collector Filter
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýFirst time replacing a full bag after timer install. My filters have never been this clean. Essentially, the whole filter is usually like the circled part. So moral of the story, use your wiper more often. Install a timer if you need a reminder. Imran On Jan 19, 2022, at 5:12 PM, Imran Malik <imranindiana@...> wrote:
? ??At AWFS I spoke with Jesse regarding filter clogging on my RL125 and he recommended that filter cleaning more often is very helpful. Upon returning, I practiced that and found that it does help. So I was excited to add a pneumatic cylinder and a PLC to control it but I realized that I have to turn the collector off before cleaning can take place. Even though my collector starts and stop automatically with the machines and I could have proceeded with the original plan to automatically do the filter cleaning, I thought that I could just walk a few steps and do the cleaning manually. So for now I have decided to just add a timer. It is a rather simple setup comprising following: Inkbird Digital Cycle Timer IDT-E2RH https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008KV65MS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share A current sensor Dwyer MCS-111050. I had this on hand. If it is cumbersome to disconnect the wire there are split core models that open and clamp around the wire. A buzzer. This buzzer is not loud enough with my saw and DC running. Since it was a 2 pack I may install the 2nd one centrally or order a piezo one that claims to be louder. Panel Mount ACDC 110V Red LED... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078MZ4YC7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Following pic shows all parts. It also shows the VFD I use to power the RL125. However, this setup will work with the current sensor installed on one of the power lines of any single phase or 3 phase dust collector. Attached is a video of the timer in action. The timer is set for 15 sec but it can be any time (min or even hrs). The dust collector was stopped last time mid cycle with 6 sec elapsed. The timer stops running when DC us off because current sensor relay is open. When I start the dust collector, the red light on the current sensor indicates relay closure upon detection of current flow - the current level to close relay is adjustable. The timer starts running. When 15 sec elapse the buzzer sounds for 3 sec (again this can be any duration). If you stop the dust collector while in buzzer cycle the timer will stop and the buzzer will continue. This can be remedied by installing a reset switch but I plan to use it without one (for now) and set the timer appropriately long and stop the machine after the buzzer is over. This cycle repeats. At the end of the day the timer can be left powered. I likely will turn it off and as I do a cleaning cycle before I start the dust collector everyday. I could not easily locate an enclosure of the size I wanted. So this makeshift will do for now. Here the timer is set for 15 minutes. Imran |
Re: New Facebook Felder Group
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI am not a FB fan mostly because of the spread of misinformation - however like Jason I can connect with friends from 35yrs ago, if everyone was on IG I would dump it. IG is great, it¡¯s so cool to connect with other folks all over the world, for me to think that I am so important that if I dumped both FB and IG it would make a difference would be ridiculous. Loose riving knife bar on K3 Winner
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYesterday, I helped Chris Bl¨¹mer over messenger (he is in Germany) diagnose the wavy cut he was getting on his Hammer K3 Winner. After systematic trouble shooting we found the culprit. The bar to which riving knife is attached was loose. This is totally not what I expected to find. Sharing here for Hammer owners. Also be interested to know if anyone has experienced this or it is a one off incident. Here is Chris's video showing the bar that holds the riving knife. ? Hopefully, we learn more from this cross pollination with Facebook J ? Imran |
Re: PantoRouter dovetail auxiliary table
Steve, To rout the dovetail slot horizontally, I would remove the vertical fence on the dovetail auxiliary table, since it would collide with the router when the table is tilted because the router bit is really short, then use a different jig to ensure the piece being routed is protruded at the same position. Re: New Facebook Felder Group
I'd be happy to participate Imran. Facebook and Instagram can advertise to me all they want. It costs me nothing and I gain much from the ease of communication with people I may have not seen in person in 30 years or my whole life. I've even sold some of my work and acquired new work from posting about it's creation. Erik, I agree they are not the most scrupulous company, but I use them as much as they use me. Amazon on the other hand can suck it. I won't give them a dime.

Re: PantoRouter dovetail auxiliary table
Steve, Yes, the PantoRouter's table can tilt. Sure, you can join the compound?miters using the Hoffmann dovetail keys. This is a feature that Hoffmann dovetail?machine?does not have. I have the Leigh FMT Pro.? # 1 issue for the vertical m&t jig is the length?limit, anything longer than 4 feet, you have to raise your jig up, step on the table or ladder, or drill a hole through the second floor, LOL. # 2 issue is that even if you can raise up your jig, it becomes extremely difficult to clamp the long and heavy piece firmly vertically,? sometimes, it is just impossible.? # 3 not as versatile as horizontally mounted router Leigh FMT Pro's?build quality is excellent, manual is the best in the industry, but the design is simply wrong. James On Sun, Feb 6, 2022 at 9:57 AM Steve Rowe <steverowe734@...> wrote: Nicely done James.? Re: New Facebook Felder Group
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýErik, First, I have learned everything I know about Felder machines here and have no plan to leave this group neither do I plan to stop sharing. All social media have their baggage and I appreciate your concerns. I am sure I am helping Facebook by being on it and as a result they get to advertise to me. There is however no advertisement on this group. I use whattsapp (now owned by facebook) to communicate to my extended family in Asia, Europe & Australia, so while I have concerns similar to yours, I succumb to its usefulness. As I mentioned earlier, I would still like to have a way to organize a local/regional group. If you have any suggestions for this, please contact me offline. Hope this helps. Erik: I appreciate and applaud your frankness... I've had the opportunity to manage very large IT organizations, and have learned to minimize my electronic footprint - I come out of hiding for valuable resources, such as this Forum (I wish that I had more to contribute to the this very fine Group...). Take Care. Mike D.
