Re: Christmas in November
Hi John,? Here are photos I had taken of the leaflet that was taped to my sliding table,? showing the two MDF strips that were preventing the cage from moving freely. Again, these were un addition to the short plastic stoppers that where wedged in to the very end. My shaper only had the plastic stoppers, my saw had both plastic stoppers and long MDF strips. Hope is info is of any use. Regards,? Cornelius.? |
Re: Anyone know the function of these screws on old Hammer A3 41?
Not entirely sure, but the first photo my guess is outfeed table height adjustment. Second photo is lock knobs for both infeed and outfeed tables.
Regards,
Bryce

Re: Christmas in November
Hi, in addition to the plastic stoppers, my machine had additional MDF strips wedged in between track and slider that prevented the table from sliding easily. Those strips were at least 1 meter long.? Only way to get them out was to push all the way to the end stop. Good luck. Cornelius? Cyprus? |
Re: Christmas in November
开云体育John,You don’t have to do it but as David said the bearing is not centered as you stated the slider will not clear the blade opening. This is normal. It is a nerve wrecking experience to slam the slider to center the bearing. However, I did not feel that bearing cage not being centered made it difficult to move the slider. Do you hear any noises when you do move it by 2 hands? Imran Malik On Dec 9, 2024, at 10:44?AM, John Hinman via groups.io <jhinman1911@...> wrote:

I did observe that the stop that limits the slider movement is placed incorrectly, so the slider will not clear the cover for the blade. That will be easy to fix.

Anyone know the function of these screws on old Hammer A3 41?
Hey guys, I just bought a 2004 Hammer A3 41 and wonder what the function of these knobs is? Does anyone know? Does anyone happen to have a manual for this old machine? It differs from the new models quite a bit.
?
Thanks in adavance

开云体育There are commissioning checklists in the files section. ?Sounds like you’re in for a long night of supervision. ?/g/felderownersgroup/filessearch?p=name%2C%2C%2C20%2C1%2C0%2C0&q=Checklist David Best - via mobile phone? Re: Christmas in November
开云体育Most likely then, the bearing cage needs to be centered. To do this, force the sliding table to the absolute extreme end of travel in both directions. ?That will center the bearing cage. ?David Best - via mobile phone? Re: F700Z slider to cast-iron height difference
Hi, I do a fair amount of template copying and have never had an issue with using a pattern that bridges the cast and sliding table.
?
The angle induced is so small as to inconsequential .
When tenoning I use the tenon table and guard. ?
The tenon hood allows for larger cutters and the guard provides protection from the cutter when the tenon isn’t being cut.

开云体育Did you remove the plastic transporting locking dowels that are wedged in between the bearing ways of the lower carriage and the sliding table? ??David Best - via mobile phone? On Dec 9, 2024, at 7:22?AM, John Hinman via groups.io <jhinman1911@...> wrote:

Re: F700Z slider to cast-iron height difference
开云体育I guess I should also point out that for template pattern work, I use a spiral cutter that is only 100mm in diameter with an integral rub bearing. ?David Best - via mobile phone? On Dec 9, 2024, at 7:17?AM, David P. Best via groups.io <dbestworkshop@...> wrote:

Re: Christmas in November
Today is the day! Tech is supposed to arrive late this afternoon for commissioning.
?
I did mount the slider onto the saw, so I could verify clearances. This slider is very hard to move. It takes two hands to move it. I hope that is a simple thing for the tech to fix.

Re: F700Z slider to cast-iron height difference
开云体育Frankly, I have never had a situation where the tiny induced angle was an issue during template routing. ?I mean we’re talking about less than 0.1° here. ?But if I was truly concerned about it, I would probably just tilt the shaper spindle backwards the required amount to nullify the discrepancy.?David Best - via mobile phone? Re: F700Z slider to cast-iron height difference
David and Imran, Thanks?again for your valuable feedback. David, there is one more question?relating to template routing - how do I fit this into the equation of having the slider 0.15mm higher than the cast iron? When you work using templates and remove the fence, do you simply cover the entire slider and cast iron with a material equivalent to the sled you described and cut out a hole the size of your cutterhead? It seems that I would need to be covering the beautiful cast iron table for a lot of my work - for template work and profiling wide boards on a sled. And the wide boards don't even need to be terribly wide since there is not much cast iron left before the slider interferes if I use a 180-200mm diameter cutterhead. Cornelius Schultze-Kraft Cyprus |
Re: Profil 45Z commission and setup
开云体育Netanel,I wired my power feed outlet on my go Gomad so it has its own push button to start on my panel so I can test it without the shaper running and when its feeding with the shaper of running and I have to kill the switch to stop it running with the shaper running it cuts out when I start the shaper back up. The power feed doesn’t start until I activate As for that power feeder, don’t have once I can’t tell you, but I can’t tell you that the roller should be precisely set parallel to the table xyz. The only time you don’t want them running parallel with the table is if you’re using one of the rollers to feed radius work. Re: Profil 45Z commission and setup
开云体育Nate, Repeating what David said a little differently. Loosen the lock for swinging the PF between horizontal and vertical and lift up on black knob up front (pink arrow) and lock it in the desired position. I think 1-2 mm can be removed just by doing this. Imran Malik On Dec 9, 2024, at 4:43?AM, David P. Best via groups.io <dbestworkshop@...> wrote:
