I do not have such tools and the arbor press, no?interest in acquiring those tools. I for sure will get a professional to replace the bearing when the time comes.

I’ve been down this spindle bearing path before. ? At least in my experience, the bearings were pressed on with a slight interference fit.? You could use a bearing heater to expand new bearings enough to go onto the spindle, but getting the old ones off required an arbor press. ? Yours may be different, but just be aware that it may not be as simple as pulling off the retaining collars.
There are two bearings in the 1 1/4" shaper spindle. I do not think you can use a grease gun to pump the grease into it, cause there is no zerk.
I think the top bearing can be removed after unscrewing the ring above it, the bottom bearing can be removed by removing the cap below it.

I see Felder has two tooling options that would work, the 04.1.200 and the 04.2.200.??
I understand that much of the Felder tooling is produced for them by another manufacturer. If there a domestic (North American) manufacturer that produces a narrow slot cutter with a ~65mm/2-1/2" depth? If so that's great, if not I'll plan on ordering the Felder tooling. I'm still researching a future KF700S purchase, and am currently working on tracking down shaper tooling, which will inform which spindle(s) I order. Based on a current project I'm working on (thank you Jason Holtz for the Eden Prairie, Greene & Greene stairs referral), I'm realizing the utility of a relatively deep-cutting groove cutter for cutting bridle joints.
Thanks ahead of time for any input/guidance....

Re: Gyro Air G1000, big collector
I bought a Jointmaker Pro V2 and received it a week ago. ?It’s a bit fiddly to setup and the cutting capacity is not very significant, but it is extremely accurate once calibrated. ?It’s also quite satisfying to not have to turn on the dust collector and saw.
So far, I’ve used it to create veneer packets that I then assembled into banding strips for cross banding and waterfall edging a cabinet. ?I needed to make a zero clearance top for the JMP to do so. ?
Currently, I’m trying Kumiko with the unit. ?I cut the grid on the table saw, but am trying to cut the interior pieces with the JMP as opposed to using guide blocks and a chisel. ?I just started last night, so am yet to see how I get on when it comes to cutting the 22.5 degree miters on a Asanoha design.
There’s a few things that I find frustrating about it. ?Firstly, there’s virtually no guide to using the tool and very little on the web either. ?This makes it a bit of an expedition in personal discovery.
There’s also some things that can really screw you up. ?First is holding the piece being cut — if it isn’t firmly attached to the table, it can bind on the return of the table and bend (hence ruining) the blade. ?Second, the precision fence, when set to cut 45 degrees, can interfere with the blade and also ruin it.
Still, I’m happy I bought it and I think it will be a useful addition to my shop.

I’d love to hear what you think after using the Harvey G700. ?I’ve seen the flash sales and have been tempted, but I haven’t found much real world user feedback on them.?
The Jointmaker Pro also looks interesting but I’m not sure how much I’d use it. ?Would be great to get feedback on that as well. ?

You aren’t going to be able to estimate the HVAC impacts without a heat load calculation where the internal loads are quantified and the thermal characteristics of the building are characterized. ?In most commercial buildings, there is very little heating load due to the internal loads that are generated by people, lighting, and equipment. ?Who knows about your shop? ?But if you have little heating load, then the likely effect on your total energy bill is likely to be greater than the change in connected load times the hours of use as the reduction in cooling load will compliment your lighting energy savings…

We swapped 72 T8 32 watt high bay for 14 watt, and 22 T8 32 watt for 10 watt. These are on 10-12 hours daily, almost every day. Not sure we're able to quantify any temperature induced savings or cost based on winter/summer. Someone could, but it's not me!

Tom,
Freeborn Tool located in Spokane Washington specializes in shaper tooling, all of their product is in made in Spokane. ?They are currently making me a custom version of their spiral cutter for pattern work. I have found their prices to be very competive. Nice folks.
