Re: Front pads & rotors replaced- spongy weak brakes in 97 evc
#evcrepair
Hi Jonathan- Just the 2 front rotors and all 4 front pads. Brakes were all fine, then passengers caliper slider pin(s) stuck and the pad/rotor got chewed up- so the front pads & rotors were replaced.

Classic air in lines, right? so returned to shop & they re-bled using pressure bleed, report no difference & are blaming pads. Pads/rotors were a "set" from Europarts-SD, & Steve there said pads were OEM semi-metalic. Anyone have similar issues with Euorparts SD supplied pads? I still think it's an air-bleed problem. If it was JUST the front pads (rear were not touched & were working fine) wouldn't the rears still lock up/ activate ABS normaly even though fronts were not good pad material? Re: EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
Re photo request of cabinet removal.?
https://photos.app.goo.gl/DGXm4V2FbJjUU7np7 Give that link a shot to get an idea of what your are looking at. Pull the fridge. Pull the vent lines. Make sure you remembered to unscrew the vents etc from the sides of camper. I pulled mine because it needed a new floor due to moisture rot around the fridge.? |
Re: EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI just took a look at? mine. If you pull out the utensil drawer you can see where the flex line connects to the sink drain and you can see if there are any dips in the line. I? seem to have tie-wrapped mine to a piece of wood behind the sink. I can send a photo if you would like. Sam 02EVC On 5/8/2021 11:59 PM, Richard Hom

Re: EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
I pulled my entire camper side out as one unit a few years back. There are really only about 5 screws holding it in. This allowed me to redo the planing lines, upgrade the pump itself, redo the copper piping to the stove etc. Took a few photos along the way. Once you have the fridge and shelves out, and have pulled the screws, the whole skeleton will slide right out the back. Don't forget about the screw in the top of the wardrobe. It's well hidden.?

Re: EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI fixed the slow drain problem in our 02EVC ( many years ago) by
making sure there were no dips in the flex drain line ( i.e.-
there is always a downward slope of the line). I think I used a
bunch of tie-wraps to secure the line to "something" (don't
remember what).? I wouldn't bother replacing the drain line unless
it is leaking. The water lines will probably outlast the rest of
the EVC. We've frozen our lines a couple of times (including the
pump) by camping at 11,000 ft in CO and NM. Didn't hurt the lines-
but had to replace the pump. Sam 02EVC On 5/8/2021 11:59 PM, Richard Hom

Hi All, |
EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
Richard Hom
Hi All,
My wife and I have owned a 2002 EVC for 9 years and try to maintain it in excellent, ready-to-go-camping-at-anytime condition.? I've done a fair amount of DIY maintenance over the years, re-built the propane section of the Norcold, replaced the converter with a smart charger, installed a back-up cam, added a battery monitor, solar, LED lighting, and more.? Haven't had any issues with the fresh water system until recently, the sink is now draining more slowly than in the past.?? I'm about to remove the rear cabinet panel under the sink area to inspect the drain system.? I expect that I'll want to replace the drain hose.? While I have this area exposed, should I also consider replacing the rest of the fresh water lines as well?? I don't know what the lifespan of these water lines may be.? We live in an area of central California that does not experience winter freezing.? As previously mentioned, no problems until the current sink draining issue. I like to do preventive maintenance whenever advisable, but would like to defer the wisdom of this group.? Sometimes it's better to leave things that are working well, alone. Thank you for your help! Re: Torn rubber thing above windshield MV westfalia

i did that repair about 10 years ago but I¡¯m pretty sure I used 1 inch wide doouble sided 3 m tape. ?I redid the entire piece. ?Make notes on placement.? I think I had to cut it width-wise a bit which is fun,due to its stickyness, and as I recall I cleaned up the area as well as possible on both the rubber and van. I don¡¯t recall what I cleaned it (probably alcohol, goo gone, elbow grease and who knows what) with but I recall that being the time consuming part. It¡¯s still on tight. YMMV. Happy trails. Torn rubber thing above windshield MV westfalia
I don't really know how else to explain it. The rubber wind deflector ? It's on a eurovan mv westfalia. The corner has started to rip with the glued side still stuck to the paint. Anyone know what type of glue would work to adhere the piece back onto the torn bit? I was thinking contact cement but understand you really only get one chance at it.?

Re: Selling my 97 full camper - what are these things really worth?
As a quick check look over the prices being asked in ¡°The Samba¡± classified for Eurovans. That¡¯s where we found our 95 that had 285K miles (currently has 298K) listed for 20K and we ended up paying 15K after seeing the ad again months after passing when it was listed for 20K. Good luck.
