Try this: Stop all instances of D-RATS running on machines on your local
network. On the machine running the repeater, delete all connections in
the D-RATS program except the one for localhost

There is a "trust local host" control in d-rats_repeater configuration. If it is checked and it's still not connecting from localhost, then something on the local machine is blocking or interfering

Someone on the reflector must have SMTP or Winlink gateway set up. With
password for access.

If your Linux machine is running a firewall try temporarily turning it off. You may need to open those ports in the firewall as well.
