Well? I suspected from OneDrive reference in folders.? Confirmed.? Well I think this have nothing to do with D-Rats.? Not sure when I installed OneDrive but I have tried unlink, uninstall and everything in Desktop keeps reference to OneDrive\Desktop.? Even new folders after unlink.

If you are running OneDrive, it moves the Desktop files to OneDrive and D-RATS fails on install. There are instructions to get around this at

This is a simple fix.? You must make sure that the ¡°D-Rats Shared¡± folder has been created. ?The default has the program looking for the file folder on the Desktop.? You can simply create the file there by right-clicking on the Desktop,
selecting the New Folder command and naming the folder as D-Rats Shared.? Once the program starts normally, you can go into Preferences and select the Paths Tab.? You can then tell the program where you want it to look for the shared folder and then you must
manually move the shared folder off the Desktop to the new location.
?
Good luck running D-Rats after that fix.

The Outlook account can send and receive emails from normal email addresses and can also be used to send messages into the Winlink system but you have to do a few special things in order to get the Winlink system to accept the messages.
?
On the To: line start with ¡°wl2k:¡± followed by the address you are sending the message to and on the Subject: line you have to start with WL2K//.? Remember to make sure not to send any commercial items in the message or they will be rejected
by Winlink.? So, no adds of any sort are allowed.

I'm also trying to config the drats outlook mail. I already turn on the pop imap setting on the outlook account. I placed all the info that Glenn provided and yet nothing happens.?
I 'wondering if on config>messages> popserver and smtp server must be enable with?
pop server with 995 ?

First, you have to sign up for an account with outlook, of course.? Tell it you want to access as a pop mail server.

The D-Rats settings are as follows:
Under Outgoing Mail click to Enable SMTP
Port & Mode = 589 and check the box next to TLS
Server =
?
Under the Email Server Tab:
Use SSL ¨C click Enabled
Port = 995
Action = Forms
Click on Enabled at bottom of popup box.? Hit Okay and then Save.

I have to admit I got the same problem when i had installed d-rats on my backup windows 10 PC, but it was before covid, and i don't really recall how i sorted this?out. and now i don't have this issue.?
I guess it was something very easy and quick because at that time?i did not?bothered to add this info to the wiki, (or at least i am not able to find any reference to this....)
NOTE: If anybody knows ho to fix this (or any other valuable info around d-rats!!) we can add a page to the wiki.
About registry: No, drats doesn't use any registry setting or use any specific tool of windows., this is to keep it platform agnostic- D-rats places? a config file? which can be edited with a text editor.?
About the missing folder issue:?
assuming you're running one of the latest versions of D-Rats (0.3.4 to 0.3.9) for the former?ones i? am not sure if the config path was shown in the debug.log), ??
the easiest way to see the config file is, when you get the error window, you shall click to open the debug log and then look at around?line 13,?
in my case the path shown in the debuglog is this one:
Config ? ?: FILE: C:\Users\mauri\AppData\Roaming\D-RATS-EV\d-rats.config
then you can edit (or delete/rename it to force d-rats to create a brand new config file)
in the?config file you can change this parameter pointing to any other existing folder where you have permissions download_dir = C:\Users\mauri\OneDrive\Desktop\D-RATS Shared

Hi: John, precisely?I did that in the correct?directory (C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Roaming\D-RATS-EV).? I use notepad++, nothing.? Even my username is the same in both computers.? ?It is not a critical issue here as I have the other computer.? But is a nasty error.?

C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Roaming\D-RATS-EV where you have to put your username in place of %USER%.

Any suggestions? Please try to use plain-text captures for error messages when possible instead of screen shots, especially when using attachments. This is a known issue in D-Rats. As near as I can tell, Windows-10 changed how the default user directories are setup. There are two ways to work around it. One is to create the directories (folders) that D-Rats is complaining about not finding.
