Ok - To followup, I was running firmware Version 1.000.0025 on all the panels which was released back in June or July if I remember. They recently released Version 1.000.0038. One of the bugs fixed:

I think what may be going on is that when you do a "Save As" to save your existing project under a new file name is that you have the checkbox "Unlink Smart Graphics Extenders from previous file"
