So, what I found with this dumb display is that the discrete IR power on and power off commands for Sharp displays actually *toggle* power. Send it either one, it will toggle its power. So, since power on and power feedback work for the display, I sent power on through CEC and buffered power off through the power feedback and used IR. So power on is CEC, power off is IR. It works great. Until the display stops responding to CEC commands and you have to manually power the display on/off to wake it up.?
