Re: OT: Introducing HDMI to component distribution (PVID/BIPAD) creates ground loop
Thanks for the responses: The loop is actually present all the time. With no HDMI connection, it is impossible to detect except on a very dark image, as a very thin and dim rolling band. Plugging in

Re: Creating Epson serial module for Powerlite G5450
Not sure why you get an error response when you are only polling Power. Epsons return an error when polling source, mte, etc. while off, but the models I have used do not return an ERR along with the

Re: Apple TV Menu Button Not Working
Almost - I had one a couple of months ago, that wouldn't respond to the Select command from the IR driver (Crestron DB) that I've used on 100 other boxes. Let me know if you'd like a copy of the

Re: Samsung UE55ES7000 - EX-Link
Are you just using the generic CEC mod? I just programmed a UN65Dxxxx and the Exlink didn;t offer any menu options to turn on so I am only using the Power on and off commands which works only.

Exactly. It really made me appreciate the significance of the effort to build the railroad across the Rockies. It's too bad there's so much bad history associated with it (in Canada anyway) regarding

We used to have a "ski train" that went from Denver west into the mountains. I got to ride that with the wife several years ago. Its amazing how much more scenic the world is when not surrounded by

It was pretty cool. There were 11 other bands and we all played acoustic sets at every stop for the locals. The whole thing was broadcast on CBC radio. They were making a documentary but last I heard

True that! The band did a tour of Canada with CBC on "tracks on tracks" last year. Some of the most amazing scenery I've seen in my entire life. They have panoramic cars that are mind boggling to see

Instead of flying home from Vancouver, take the train across the Canadian Rockies. The scenery gets boring after the mountains so I would get off somewhere in the middle and rent a car for the drive

Re: PTL4 to TPS4L
With older firmware you can just use a physical PTL-4 where you have a programmatic TPS-4L. With newer firmware, the processor pays more attention to the panel's identity and won't speak to the PTL-4.

Burger Joint in Le Parker Meridian across from Carnegie Hall is a decent burger-to-$ ratio and an odd contrast from the fairly elegant hotel lobby. For theater (re), I usually wander by the TKTS booth
