Re: How many Emitters
I *do* come from the electronics engineering world :), and you're correct Jeremy. It's to do with different forward currents passed by wiring just the LEDs in parallel with no series resistors...the

Re: Marantz AV-8003 ethernet control?
I happen to have a Marantz SR-7005 here in my office for testing. Marantz now uses the Denon codeset, which works great (connects on port 23). Except for one thing - the ethernet port shuts down when

Re: Samsung UN55C6300 - Ex-Link jack?
Great - I tried to find the 1/8" mini on the back, but couldn't find a picture that had it. Glad I don't have to build anything to attach to the VGA port!

Re: Samsung UN55C6300 - Ex-Link jack?
I've now done about 12 of the C6300/7000/8000 series in the field. the Ex-link is NOT in the VGA connector.... The Ex-link RS-232 port is a dedicated stereo 1/8" connector on the rear of the TV that

Re: How many Emitters
I'm not an electrical engineer, but paraphrasing what I've heard before, IR LEDs have different resistances due to manufacturing differences, even if they're the same make, model, and batch. If wired

Re: 3-Series in the wild?
That's the default, but there's a "bypass" checkbox you may have seen show up in Toolbox recently that bypasses that behavior so that a single program can be restarted without affecting the others.

Re: Software to list Crestron, Vtc devices on a lan subnet without knowing IP
You can also run wireshark. You would need to setup filters for the traffic you are interested in.

Re: How many Emitters
I'm sure someone else can explain better, but any dual-emitter you buy is wired in series. (I think I discovered it when troubleshooting a dual-emitter that had one broken emitter lead. Both stopped

Wait a sec... Are you stating that any program loaded into a higher slot than the slot being loaded through toolbox will automatically be suspended/restarted (as in reboot on 2 series) while/after the

Toolbox will tell you all of the Crestron devices it sees on a network - use the "Device Discovery Tool". [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Samsung UN55C6300 - Ex-Link jack?
I've tried to find a good picture of the connections on this display, and I've been unsuccessful. Can anybody here tell me whether or not I'll have any luck getting a serial connection up and going?

Heath, This may be a dumb question, but why do you need to wire them in series, rather than parallel? Travis

I agree with Chip, Extron's stuff just works. The dip switches which set your voltage range on the VA's are muy importante.
