Re: Crestron Home OS3 setup
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGood to hear the factory reset got the IP control working.? I have only controlled Sony TVs via SIMPL.? So I have no idea why OS3 doesn't work.? Sorry.Good luck, Steve On 4/19/20 8:57 PM, bryan_d_garcia via

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯ve not done NVX across trunked links where I¡¯m responsible for the network config but my gut is saying that this would be a good idea and a quick Google isn¡¯t turning up documentation that says it¡¯s a bad idea. Watch for link saturation and controller utilization ¨C if you have fewer than 40-ish transmitters with a 40-ish gig trunk you might not have any problems with flooding regardless¡ but the idea of flooding unsubscribed multicast still makes me cringe. ? Also unlikely to cause an actual concern unless you¡¯re close to saturation but be aware if you aren¡¯t already that LACP links in Cisco aren¡¯t perfectly load balanced, instead traffic is predictably divided based on criteria (source mac, dest mac, source mac xor dest mac, src ip, dest ip, etc.) ¨C I¡¯m foggy, but want to say the default is source MAC ?-- but if you¡¯re seeing saturation on one of the links and underutilization on another you may need to fine tune this (port-channel load-balance <method>, at least on my 3750X stack) ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? Re: Crestron Home OS3 setup
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have had issues with something getting corrupted in the Sony while all the settings are correct.? I've fixed that issue in the past by doing a factory reset on the Sony TV and then setting it up again.I would get it working with netcat first and only after that is successful, try using Crestron.? You might try doing a port scan and ensure port 20060 is open on the TV. Overall I have not been impressed with Sony IP control.? 1) Sometimes you have to reboot the TV to get IP control working again, 2) I've seen the network card in Sony TV fail. 3) As mention above sometimes you have to reset the TV to factory defaults. 4) Firmware updates on the Sony TV sometimes breaks the IP control. 1) For the LACP trunks, do I need to do this "no ip igmp snooping tcn flood" for the trunk ports?? Right now I have? only set this on the access ports where the DM-NVX devices will be connected. 2) I expect I will have about 20-25 NVX devices as most, right now I have them on the Control VLAN, from what I have read this seems to be a reasonable configuration.? ?Please let me know if there are any concerns. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx Bryan |

Crestron Home OS3 setup
I am trying to setup a Sony XBR-55X930E with Crestron Home using the IP Smart TV control device driver and apparently I am missing something. I have done the following:
When I go into the configuration for device (device setup gear) it shows: Device Name: Test Room: Game Room Type: Unknown Model: XBR-55X930E Smart TV Version: 2.05.001.0085 Control Type: Tcp Control Point: Not Configured Status: Offline Sony recommends testing with netcat, but when I try and connect on port 20060 it fails i about 2-3 seconds. I am guessing I am missing something on the XBR, but for the life of me I a stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx Bryan I get show all of the information |

Re: Text to file module
Checked it out I already have similar module but the program I have is already setup using the Crestron Text Entry for 25 Fields,? I am involved with a lot and don't have the time to do willing to pay someone to make the module function exactly like the Crestron Text Entry one but store it on a text file.? If anyone is interested let me know.? I can provide you with the Module that stores text to file?

Re: DM-NVX-351
I've done a few projects with the MicroSemi units and they seemed to work fine.?
? 1. As I had mentioned in another post, you will need to use shielded CAT cable for grounding of the End-points - OR ground the end-points - You're welcome! that cost me 2-3 days to learn...:) ? ? 2. Also review??Answer ID:?5791. Though Crestron has not been able to give me a cogent answer, the OLH note indicates that the 12+24 port units cannot service a full 12+24 units, even though the 6-port services 6 units - Typical Crestron. MicroSemi tech support has no explanation for this limitation and essentially disagrees with Crestron FWIW. Also, MicroSemi has no idea what the 'Switch must use 450W mode' means in the OLH note... The MicroSemi is reasonably priced and definitely makes for a cleaner Head-end... |
