You're connecting your cresnet ground line to one side of your furnace
control wiring?

The last thing in the universe you should to to a TSTAT is connect
Cresnet anywhere directly to your furnace. Regardless of brand.

Anything with a compressor in it (AC or heat pump) relies on the
thermostat to provide a delay timer after the last demand to protect
the compressor from rotor lockup. If you have your Cresnet power on a
UPS, the thermostat won't be able to sense a power interruption.

Secondly, in the US, most hvac systems rely on 18-24v AC transformers
to to interface to the thermostat. Furnaces don't have very good noise
and surge protection. Connecting Cresnet ground to one side of an AC
transformer is asking for intermittent problems.

The ONLY way to safely and reliably mitigate not enough wires in the
thermostat cable is to use add a simple 18-24v ac transformer, plugged
into a normal AC outlet, supplying ac between C and Rs, and hope that
when there is a power failure, this transformer goes down too.

in the old a/c system analog thermostat, analog thermostat (thier is no
+24 v -24 volt )
actually u can use the cnet voltage in this case also , i tryed this
methode and its working perfectly.

Re: Thermostat CHV-TSTAT

u cannot know the real voltage of the relay if u didnot open the
internal cover of the thermostat i will try to explain the causes:

- maybe the main voltage is 24 vc dv maybe its going to resistance and
from resistance to diode zener (the value of stabilation of zener in
this methode is according to the voltage of the relay).
- other case maybe they r using volyage divider (2 resistance in series
and (voltage factor over 2).
-maybe they r using 7805 regulator if the voltage of the relay isw 5
volt,or 7812 regulator with 3 pin loking like transistor (if the coil
voltage is 12 v).

Re: Thermostat CHV-TSTAT

Uh, I'm slow today. Sorry.

TSTATs are powered by the furnace wiring between the R and C. It isn't
necessarily the contact rating. My guess it is the limitation of the
voltage you can apply to the R terminals and not torch the tstat.

If you stay below Crestron's voltage guidelines (AC or DC), you should
be fine.

If you look at Crestron's website at the master description, the relay
contact rating is 40V DC or 28V AC at 1 amp.

(sorry, didn't think to look there until now.)

Re: Thermostat CHV-TSTAT

Trane furnaces (XL10) use 24v ac without any problems to the thermostat.

Relay descriptions are slightly tricky as a 12v relay refers to the
coil voltage when the contacts are closed.

Some general purpose relays I use during the day have 115v AC limits
before there is an arc across the contacts. If you're using DC, they
lower the rating to 28v DC.

Re: A wireless router for every rack...?

connect all the rack to one wirless router (i mean one cable from every
pross to one routter).
for security thing u can restrict the unkown ip from ya network by
enterning to the setup page of ya router ,simply go to security section
and go to ip filtation....add the permitted ip if u r using static ips,
else use ip reservation of the prossesors if dynamic ips in the main

its 2 much easy .

-in ya case u must use ethernet intersystem communication not cresnet
intersystem communication cus thier is no cnet in the qm-rmc.
-connect the female-female serial cable 2 the qmrc and asign ip for
the prossesor and add the ip id and the ip of the target prossesor in
the qm-rmc.
-same thing in the the other prossesor.
-enter to the simpl window of the first prossesor , in the configure
view go to the device window , ethernet control module extand it ,
extand the ethernet intersystem, add the ethernet intersystem
communication to the same ipid assigned in the ip table of the
prossesor and edit it , change the ip of the target device, save it.
-open the smpl window of the other pros and do the same thing in the
same ip id but add the ip of the other prossesor save it and upload
ya prog.
-if u r using hub to connect the 2 pross the lan wire must be
straight else it must be cross.
-u can ping to the 2 pross if ya pc is connected to the hub,or u can
use alive command frrom view port.
if u have any clearification...

What? You don't have plasma and screen controls with no projectors in
your rooms?

If you think about actually using a room with a projector and
screen, it
seems that the screen should be raised when you are done using the
system
and shut it off. Perhaps the "entire system" includes the screen,
and
turning the screen off means raising it. If you did not raise the
screen in
your shutdown sequence then you might just throw that in there and
see if
that takes care of the "incomplete".

I believe that in the documentation you quoted for the SHUTDOWN
button the
phrase "close any open subpages" is supposed to also mean clear
subpages.
Usually at the completion of the shutdown process you would revert
to the
opening page of the project that encourages the prospective user to
live
dangerously and energize the system by touching the panel. :-)

Anyways, it seems that you have done a fine job with the rest of
the project
and these fixes should be quick and easy.

ON/OFF

Hello,

I recently submitted my Entrance Exam to the Intermediate class, and
found out that my issues where:

1. Toggling the Power button does not clear subpages.

2. Shutdown Sequence is not complete

-I am not asking how to do any of this. I could not find anywhere in
the documentation that asks to clear the subpages when the power
button is pushed.

Here is what it says:

The power button should close Relay 1 to turn the system on when
pressed the first time and open Relay 1 to turn the system off when
pressed the next time.

This is what it says for the "SHUTDOWN" Button:

The "Shut Down" button should turn off the entire system, clear any
button feedback, mute the volume, and close any open subpages. This
entire process should tank no longer than 10 seconds.

Also... with my Shut Down sequence being incomplete... I am
curious...
did that want the Screen Raised at Shutdown? At Startup, they wanted
the Screen lowered. Nowhere in the documentation does it say to
raise
the screen at Shut Down.
