Re: USB Connection in Parallels on ARM MAC
Hey Hadley
I'm curious to learn more about how you set up your system to use Mac Terminal to work as a console through the USB RNDIS connection to a 4 series processor.? I'm familiar how to open up an SSH session with a processor and work that way, but using the USB connection from time to time is necessary from time to time.? What RNDIS driver did you use?? Anything else I should look for or know?? Thanks! |
Re: CHV-TSTAT Cresnet Issue
If the Cresnet cable is only landed on the Cresnet connector, and they are properly assigned on both ends, I would say that there is an issue with your cable (nail or mouse chew causing a short) or something with the TStat Cresnet chip.
I would verify that there are no shorts on the cable and check all of your other connections.? This vintage of Crestron Hardware (CHV) has been about as rock-solid as any product I have ever dealt with... |
Re: CHV-TSTAT Cresnet Issue
Thank you both for the input.? Disconnecting the 24v from the Cresnet wire lets the processor boot but the TSTAT is not discoverable then in CH.? |
Re: CHV-TSTAT Cresnet Issue
That depends...
If you're powering the TStat with the HVAC system, make sure that you have the 3-position jumper to the top or bottom position depending on whether you're using the RH or RC for the HVAC power and you will use the 24(C) terminal from the HVAC common. With this, You WILL USE (and MUST USE) the +24 DC from the Cresnet to power the Cresnet Communication terminals. I don't believe it will work otherwise. In the above scenario, if you have the 3-position jumper in the Middle position ("Use ext. 24v supply) you are combining the Cresnet 24/G DC with the HVAC 24 AC Common....? The processor no likey!!...:) In rare instances (I have one site in 20+ years), you'll not be able to reliably use the HVAC power for the Stats. in this case you can jump 24/G DC from the Cresnet connector to the 24(R) and 24(C) connectors and set the 3-position jumper to the middle position. |
CHV-TSTAT Cresnet Issue
Hi All,
Having a strange issue with a CHV-TSTAT. ?Every time I connect it to the processor via cresnet, it reboots the processor constantly in 1-2 second intervals. ?Processor just blinks the green PWR button over and over. ?I've triple checked the wiring, even redone it to be on the safe side. ?The TSTAT itself actually turns on (powered from the HVAC unit) and works perfectly fine. ?Tried it with two different processors, CP4R and CP3, same behavior. ?Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |
Re: Crestron Home
That¡¯s one of the best parts of how Crestron implements the dual ports on the NAX.
By default, port 1 is the discovery/control port, and port 2 is the AES67 streaming port. CH will discover it on the main VLAN while the NVX/NAX can stream on the AV VLAN. Just don¡¯t plug in both ports until you have them configured for dual mode. Also, the control port is where AirPlay lives, so that should be on your client VLAN. Good Luck, Brian |
Re: Crestron Home
In answer to your question, yes we have successfully setup a Crestron Home system with NAX and Sonos on the same network.? While another member of our team set up Crestron Home, I did setup the network configuration.? The DM-NAX requires requires your switches be setup for IGMP snooping just like the DM-NVX.

I doubt that you could put either Sonos and/or NAX on a separate VLAN without doing some fancy network configuration mainly because Crestron Home normally cannot discover devices on other subnets. Re: Crestron Home
I had a similar issue - got around it via separate VLANs and firewall rules to limit the multicast traffic from overwhelming the network.? Re: Crestron Home
It's best to use a secondary unmanaged switch for the Sonos.?? Re: Construct Headaches
I played with Construct for about an hour.? My main takeaway was "time to knock the dust off my HTML/CSS skills" and went down that avenue instead, although Crestron has issues there as well (specifically with their default template).? ??
?? ? It's like Studio if tried to be a WYSIWYG HTML editor.? Has that same half baked feeling as Studio. |

I love this group!!!
BTW, I have already programmed/tested the User interface and that is the only part that I'm not concerned about...(Who knew!!)... Though, As with every updated generation of Crestron devices, it would be nice if they kept to same/similar SMW interface and just added what they needed... |
Re: Just add power module errors
There's some misinformation there. The long integer to integer warning is a genuine warning that you may be losing data due to downcasting from 32 to 16 bits. Whilst it's never normallly an "issue" persay, it can be rectified by casting the assignment. Casting in Simpl+ is done by surrounding the long with brackets, for example:
