Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
My latest article, "Rescu Wants to Keep Smart Homes Safer with Its Monitored Security App¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.
People who have installed smart home technology are, in many cases, bypassing the services offered by alarm monitoring companies to leverage the technology in their homes to monitor for intruders, fires, etc. themselves.? This can save homeowners a considerable amount of money but comes with its own risks.? This article looks at the issues with self monitoring a home and explores several different solutions. You can find the article here: For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: Finally, for those that want to see even more content I've written about smart home technology you can find that here: Thanks |
I assume that your 'forced' authentication connection is getting timed out - very annoying! (like most things lately!)
to mitigate, I was given the following console command to use (also works with 3-series and TSW with Auth ON) SETLogoffidletime???????????? Administrator?????? Set idle time allowed before current user is automatically logged off |
If I leave a toolbox system info session running with the program load dialog open (inactive) for any length of time and then attempt to send a program. It will simply do nothing.
I have to refresh the connection and it will work until it breaks again due to inactivity. Don't have this problem with CP3's. Anyone else seeing this? -s |

I remember seeing that procedure described many times over the years, but have never had to actually use it :-) --- On Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM, Thorsten K?hler wrote: |
Re: Online Help
I raised this issue here on 12 july:
[email protected] | crestron.com online help issue None of the workarounds were reliable. If you do manage to get onto your support page, save it to your favourites. This will always get you there - assuming your browser keeps you logged in. -s |

This actually worked, on the first try.

NVX in a conference room that¡¯s divisible
Hello all !!
I am currently working on a conference room that has a 3x3 video wall as well as 5 displays around the rest of the room.? The client is wanting to be able to split up said conference room into 3 rooms or any combination of the 3.? I have a Biamp tesiraforte handling the audio control coming from 3 nvx 350's in encoder mode and attached to floor box inputs(audio and video) and a Shure wireless mic setup. I also have 3 tsw-1060's...one per "area". Room 1 will control all displays and audio zones, unless room 2 or 3 is active then it would only control the "front" which included the video wall and one additional display. I'm having an issue where I am not sure how to setup the combine/separate on the NVX decoders.? I have been around the residential game for a long time and have never had to do something like this before.? Would I use a Multiple Serial Send to send out the rtsp stream to each decoder or run through a CCROSS to ECROSS ? I'm at a standstill ATM on this.? Everything is working through the web GUI as far as audio and video streaming on video wall and ancillary displays, just now working on the touch panel logic and it would seem that I am just drawing a blank on this. Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated. BK |

Thanks Wyatt,
That actually worked for me also... If it doesn't work for others, as someone mentioned, try Save As to a 560P as this should render similar to the iPhone... |

Re: Online Help
I spoke to TB about it today as I've had a case open for a while (and I think Chris K has mentioned it a few times).
They're aware of the problem - apparently it's not the same for everyone. Earlier I was able to get into my cases by clicking around "Email Us" and other tabs, but even that seems to be fruitless now :( |
