¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI believe one retrofit project I did the network design/configuration/commissioning for we had one run (Cat5-pre-E) with a cable run in the ¡°it might have actually been slightly longer than 300 ft/100 meter¡± range and the NVX device at the end of the cable (pretty sure it was a D30) has had no issues. I think that might have even been with PoE but I¡¯m a little foggy on the physical details since that was largely beyond my responsibility. ? Over that distance I¡¯d be more concerned about PoE if you were going to try to use it, particularly PoE++/UPOE-type power consumption than data integrity, but since you mentioned having fiber I can assume you¡¯re planning on locally powering anyway. ? Of course using a proper cable certifier to make sure the cable and terminations are completely happy with the world is always a good idea. ? Lincoln -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? I have a fiber there as well and will be prepared to use it.? But, just wondering if anyone has any feedback that has been in this situation. |
