Dead Center
The manual for my Atlas 10" says a sleeve is provided to go from a #2 Morse taper to a #3 Morse taper. I know little about machining and so I don't know if this means I could buy a #3 Morse dead

Agree with Kurt. I have one as well.? For the price at CDCO, it is hard to beat.? Pretty good quality, especially at that price.-Jody

I would go with an AXA. I bought mine from CDCO (Bostar) and it has worked out well. Kurt S. Sent: Wednesday, February 6, 2019 3:24 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [atlas-craftsman IO] Quick

I have the Atlas 10" lathe. I do not know what the center to center is, but the bed length the carriage rides on is almost 36" from where it meets the headstock to the end of the bed. In this group it

This is called ¡°zinc pest¡± and is the result of the casting alloy (primarily zinc) having lead as an impurity. ¡¯Tain¡¯t s¡¯posed to be any lead in there, but has been known to happen. In other

Spacer is to line up the marks on the threading dial, most often marks get out of alignment when parts are mixed from different machines..

Hi Bill, Not taking sides on this one , but in my personal experience the Zamak parts do seem to vary in terms of longevity . Some years ago I imported the slotted shaft which operates the half nuts

I used a spacer to make the lines on the thread dial assembly line up correctly after installing new half nuts from Clausing. Regards, Rex [email protected]> wrote:

Steve I agree, I did not have to file any edges. I am including two pics about the spacer washer that I mentioned earlier. [email protected]> wrote:

I am at a loss for why one would pay double for an item from E-bay when an OEM part is available new direct from Clausing.? Not interested in zamak bashing.? Evidence does not support it.

Thanks for the links! One caveat for the gears from Gadget047, he says he designed them with a 20 degree pressure angle. IIRC, the original gears have a 14.5 degree pressure angle. Got to get my

No filing of the corners was necessary, the brass half nuts had generous chamfers already machined by the maker. Steve Haskell

Re: 3D Printing Files for Gears, etc
Just in case anybody does not know, the gears for the craftsman 109, are the same gears that will fit the Atlas 618 and craftsman derivatives, I own both lathes and interchange gears at will.
