Re: center height/ distance from topslide
Cdcotools.com seems to be a go-to place for a lot of people due to their good customer service department.

Re: center height/ distance from topslide
I'm not sure anyone answered your question.? But FWIW, using calipers on my QC42, I measured a distance of 30.9mm (1.217") between the spindle centerline and the mounting surface of the compound.

Re: More bloody slop found
Doesn't really matter, it's not a precision machined part to begin with and it's just a pivot for the belt tension so nothing to worry about

Re: center height/ distance from topslide
Actually the 6-18's are best fit with an OXA and you broad brush of "all" ignores the miriad of Franken-machines altered by mad engineer's.

Re: center height/ distance from topslide
People tie up an enormous amount of real estate with oversized posts in my opinion.
I have an AXA on a 1042 and I think it's overkill.

Just measure the existing bearings and then search McMaster and Grainger for a good part number. Then try Amazon.
I would refrain from modifying the housing, since replacement parts are not

Re: countershaft bearings
No need to turn it down, just find a bearing that fits its current diameter and machine the housing to fit the o.d.
