I have information from my own experience in sourcing the counter shaft roller bearing replacements. In 2016 I was able to find the exact new bearings from Snyder's Antique Auto Parts in New Springfield, OH.. They were exact replacements by actual construction, and under the Ford part no. of A-7118 found in applications to Ford transmission counter shaft and input shaft 'short' version bearings (the 'long' version is p/n A-7121). Unfortunately, the domestic manufacturers have nearly all gone to off shore sources for these p/n bearings and the result has been greatly increased costs (vs. my sourcing in 2016 at $4.00 - $6.++ each) and extremely unsatisfactory service life due to a revised method of construction. There is a very informative and detailed discussion thread including many other manufacturer brand cross referenced part nos. (with no assurances these are as original in design) on TheFordBarn.com site under General Discussion >Model A (1928-31) 'Transmission Bearings'. It seems the only way to get the good, original Ford designed bearings is to get Ford branded AND boxed (not loose) New Old Stock units, likely on Ebay, if they still exist! The design detail that identifies the original quality units is to look at the end retainer plates for through holes at the ends of the roller elements where the rollers have axle projections that? ride in these holes.
